...do you ever sing a guys song?
I'll 'fess up! I enjoy singing, mostly at home, sometimes in public...
"When you say nothing at all", but since a guy did sing that, maybe it doesn't count.
"Fire & Ice" byPat Benatar
"The Rose" by Bette Midler"
"Foolish Games" by Jewel
"From This Moment" S. Twain,
"Walk On By" Dionne Warwich
"Wind Beneath My Wings" Bette Midler, but also sang by Gary Morris, if you've ever heard of him.
A few Carpenters songs
"You Were Mine" Dixie Chicks
"Get Here" Oletta Adams
"I Need You" LeAnne Rimes
"Never Ever" All Saints
"Crazy" Patsy Cline
"Save The Best For Last" Vanessa Williams
"I'm Alright" Jo Dee Messina (lots of fun)
"I'm With You" Avril Lavigne
"I Touch Myself" Divinyls (when I'm felling stooopid)
"Cruel Summer" Bananarama
"The Way We Were" Barbra Streisand
"Fallin" Alicia Keys
"Give Me One Reason" Tracy Chapman
I know there are a couple more, but can't think of them at the moment.
I know there are a couple I started to learn, but can't remember where I am with them, if anywhere, by
Anita Baker
Toni Braxton
Janis Joplin - I can hit all the notes to "Cry Baby", but don't know the song well enough yet, but I know "Me & Bobby McGee", but she just goes too crazy at the end and I can't get near it!
So, any of you got the (whatever it takes) to cross that line?

I had a great a cappella arrangement in mind for the College mens glee club I started and directed. Problem is as much as I like Burt Bacharach arrangements, the guys were too macho to be heard singing
"each morning I wake up"
"Before I put on my makeup"
"I say a little prayer for you"
I really was aching to write a glee arrangement of "Say a little prayer", but I had to stick with The Association tunes instead.
Those wusses

Oh, I sing Kenny Rogers in original key, dear. When I figure out how to post this stuff... YOU'RE ON!!
I'm off work in a few weeks (summer break) and I'm gonna figure out how to do that. :)
OMG... speaking of Kenny Rogers, I love "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" duet, but never could find a girl who knew it to sing with me.

I have just picked up a gig tomorrow night and they have asked the impossible
its the annual sports awards dinner and just before the guest speaker they want a motivational song
I dont know of any that I can pull out of the hat at such short notice...how do you think pink floyd's shine on you crazy diamond would go? I mean I know its a song about madness but shin splints and endorphins are kinda madness arent they?

“I Touch Myself” is kinda easy. “Get Here” is a toughie, but I did practice it enough to do it well.
I didn’t remember accurately just how it was done originally, so I have my own version, but it’s pretty close.
Yes, I love that song. I love dramatic songs with a lot of feeling, and I add a little more on top of that.
Do you happen to know any George Michael? I've got two G.M. songs pretty down pat, and I really like the feeling that I can push on his songs. I just add a lot of air to a lot of the parts, and a little extra reverb, and they're awesome to sing.

Yes in fact I do:
A couple of blues songs:
-The SGB version of "Summertime" on Disc #1 song #11. Is kind of a bee-bop uptempo version that most people have never heard before. Works out very nicely with a guy singing it in a jazz style.
-"Gloria Hardaman's "Meet me with your black drawers on". Most people arent familiar with it. Its a Soundchoice disc. Works well with a male blues singer. Has a real nice bridge in the middle that allows me to swing dance in the middle of the tune. And I make it my own by freestyling at the very end........."And baby I want you to come meet me after the show and take them blaaaaaaaaaack panties Offffffffffffff!!" as I go right up to a cuties table and serenade her with that--UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!!! LMAO LMAO LMAO

As for the girl songs…
Foolish Games by Jewel, I heard one of those gay theater buddies sing, he has an opera voice, and I didn’t recognize it, but it was so beautiful I had to practice it.
I “drop it like it’s hot” (key change wise) and the high parts are still a bit of a strain, but with a little push I can hit them. Damn… talk about a song with feeling…

Sure! Why not. Music is music. I happen to have a wide vocal range, so I have a lot of fun singing lots of female artists tunes. Just for fun though...

Bobby McGee was a Kris Kristofferson song, so You can just take it back.
Bowling for Soup has their version of Brittney Spears Hit Me Baby and I sung that
Weird Al parodied Madonna's Like a Virgin, Avril's Complicated, and on some karaoke kamikazis I've gone Roberta Flack's First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
And I did Amy Winehouses Rehab when I saw it on a KJs list.

I did sing that, by myself a few times. A bit too slow for me to feel like I'm entertaining anyone else.
I enjoy singing the really slow songs for practice. I find that the slower, the more difficult. If one really wants to refine the...
hell, I don't even know the technical terminology, but really-slow songs where you have to really breathe right, hold those notes, hit the keys right on, etc... those slow really let you know what you can do.
(By the way, is it okay to say “H*ll" or "Da*n" in here? I think I do it unconsciously.)
