I'm looking to convert my cdgs to a computer based program.  I'm looking for a program that will allow me to copy my cdg to a hard drive in an mp3g format. and the player to have pitch control and I don't know if its a standard feature or not but I'd like to be able to dump the video portion to a seperate tv while having the ability to manage the program from the laptop during performances.

Ok I've kind of narrowed it to win amp or kara fun. I'm like karafun because the key change resets its self after a songs over, but I like the power of winamp. but both lack one function I'd like to see Dual video display.  I alway have a mic ready to help folks out if they don't know the song to well, but I'm not always in a position to see the tv monitor. Is there any program that will display lyrics both on my computer display and a tv monitor?

Although it's smaller screen, MTU Video Hoster will do just that - show the lyrics on the singer display & on the host screen.

Winamp will give you two screens to drag around anywhere you want, you just have to double instance the CDG plug-in.

But, as I am working on a new hosting program at this moment (yeah guys, progress at long last) I would be interested to know why you would like a lyrics display on the control screen.

For the reason stated, sometimes you may not be able to see the singer display.

Okay, a reasonable answer Lonman.  Thank you.  I guess what I meant to ask is why would the KJ need to see the lyrics at all?

For me, I like to be able to see the words, sing along to myself, be able to help someone out in a tough spot maybe - being able to see the words I may be able to help them better than not seeing the words.  Also our club doesn't allow songs with profanity so I need to be able to watch on questionable songs.  Also to watch out for large (or even small) graphic glitches.

Thanks Lonman:  Those are some good reasons I didn't thing of.  I have added a second display feature to the new hoster.  Thanks again.

I have dual display capabilities with the PhySysteme CDG plugin for WinAmp - there are instructions posted on the site on how to do this (I think; if not, it's easy to do). The MTU Hoster is a good product, too.

I host with WinAmp, PhySysteme's (donateware) MP3+G and (paid) CDG plugins and (paid) Olli Parviainen PaceMaker plugin. I use WinAmp's Media Library feature to sort my DJ and karaoke selections via Genre filters. The only "feature" I'm missing from the software is rotation management. If you'd like that, check out the autOKdj plugin.

It lets one know that they picked the right song for one.
It also lets you know whether your import was any good for another.
