Post subject:  If I were a Cat...

If I were a cat I would only have 8 lives left.  Something happened Saturday night at my Sat gig that doesn't happen very often to a guy and leave him unscathed.

It was a packed night but as sometimes will happen; very few singers.  So I joined in the rotation and about 11:00, I'm up singing and I see two ladies come in and set down with my wife.  After I finished and called up the next singer my wife walks up to me and says, "Oh, by the way; happy anniversary."  Needless to say I was dumb founded. Birthdays, anniversaries, special dates is something that I just don't ever forget.  Well I did Saturday.  All I could say was, "I am so sorry I forgot."  Well she started laughing and said, don't feel bad, 'I did too."  The girls had asked her who she was her with and she said "My husband."  Chit chat finally led to how long have you been married?  That's when it dawned on her.

She had been busy all week getting ready for a two day yard sale and I, being a fire chief have spent the last several weeks going over bids on a couple new fire trucks; anyhow,...we both forgot.  So, at about 2:30 Easter morning I took her out to eat; at the "Huddle House" for breakfast before we went home. LOL.

You are one very lucky man that she had forgotten also....  Glad it all worked out...I'll have to talk to my husband about not taking me to the Huddle House for our anniversary...LOL

Oh and how many years has it been???

Oh, man. I'd have literally killed ya:) Shame on you. But I guess if she forgot too, then..... she can't be too awfully mad at you.

I must have been male in a previous existance cos its always me that forgets lol. I dont think we have spent an anniversary together anyway cos it falls on a long weekend and I am either gigging or he is off climbing mountains or hunting.
Last anniversary I got the jump on him...I was the one going to be away so I went and bought a likkle teddy bear and popped it on his pillow and in a likkle card I put "thank you for making the last 11 years bearable"
when I phoned him that night he hadnt even seen it :)

Hearing these sensitive love and romance stories is starting to get me all weak in the knees 'n stuff.   Is there something wrong with me ?   I have NO regrets about never having married.  Is this weird ?   Dunno,  I suppose since I'm weird, weird would feel comfortable anyway <shrug>.

I try not to forget the parents anniversary,  last year was their 50th, and I decided to get them something special !   I sued them !   Hey,  I never wanted to be born anyway, and the past 50 years have been hell !

Hey,  It's just the kind of person I am !
