So is this the most screwed up year of AI?

I haven't watched the show every season, but this year seems particularly goofy!  There aren't any outstanding singers this time around. The Jack Osborne look alike just got kicked off and I heard that Howard Stern has prompted his listening audience to keep voting for that Sanjaya guy even though he's such an idiot.  One thing that's kind of refreshing this year I guess is that this season is NOT a beauty contest!  LOL

To be honest.....

I haven't watched it even once since the "funnies" were over:)

I don't like AI much. It's mostly not my style of music (seems they mostly do pop and soul music) , so I have a hard time forming an opinion of who I do and don't like. So I take my biased little self off to do other things besides watch the show.

If Howard Stern could pull that off where that Sahara guy (or what ever his name is  :) ) wins, that would be hillarious...first I heard that he was doing that...too funny

This is the first year I ever voted for somebody on AI and I voted 3 times this past week for Sanjya ....    go to Votefortheworst dot com. to see why I voted for him. the whole show has turned into such a joke...They have Jumped the shark.

I actually voted for him just so they keep showing his hot sister in the audience.

I have to say... I'm actually somewhat INTO this season..... I haven't been the last couple years, but I do agree.... there certainly isn't anyone who really stands out... ESPECIALLY the guys..... the Phill guy looks like a woman with a shaved head... I can't stand to look at him... I kinda liked the "Jack Osborne Lookalike" in the beginning, but he went downhill. His personality rocked though!! "I really wanna make David Hasselhoff cry" HAHAHA!! That killed me!

I gotta say... Jordan Sparks is my fave. She's fricken adorable and she's got a great voice for being so young (hell regardless how old she is, she's got a great voice) I dunno.. I just really like her.

I do kinda like Melinda Doolittle too, but she's kinda annoying to watch.

As for the rest of 'em... meh!

Sanjaya.... drives me nuts... I'm embarassed FOR him.

I believe every Radio DJ is doing the Sanjaya bandwagon.  And Stern is on Sirius radio not even a TENTH of his radio audience when he was on regular radio, and he only does 4 shows a week, there's no way Stern is pulling this off.

As for me, when Chris Daughtry's cd outsold the last winner Taylor Hicks, second place Clay Aiken is more a name than Ruben, non idol winner Jennifer Hudson is an Oscar winner, really shows what "America" thinks who the winners are.  And the "Dog" Randy, "Glug glug" Paula, and "That's Awful" Simon is getting way past its expiration date.

I voted no, but in retrospect I should have voted jumped the shark.  They honestly are going to have to change the way the allow votes or they way they let contestants in, or it's just going to be the votefortheworst all the time.  The judges won't even comment on Sanjaya's singing anymore.

I actually liked Taylor Hicks, but I think half the people voting for him were doing the votefortheworst thing.

My least favorite season was the one with Carrie Underwood.  I couldn't stand her and kept wishing she'd be voted off.  I like this season's singers much better than in some years past.  Even Sanjaya is mostly in tune.

I agree, that's one of my biggest complaints. That music was fine for the first year, but America is about a lot more music styles than that - so is Canada. They really should explore and not expect everyone to sing like Aretha Franklin or Mariah Carey. I suppose they diversify a bit, but still not near enough for me.

My fav singing show is the one where they are looking for the replacement for The PussyCat Dolls. Very nice looking women in very short skirts  :drool: . A lot of them seem to sing and perform better than any idol singers anyway.

The Truth Is Out There

I just saw that advertised last night for the first time. I rarely ever watch TV, but I had it on (watching Americas Top Model of all things- what a bunch of drama queens..) and I saw the other advertised.

Not that I'll actually get into watching it, but....
