Hello,

I've attempted to read some of the advice on the other topics, but I swear it's like Greek...

So, I want karaoke in my house...where do I start?

I've been on a few karaoke player selling sites (like acekaraoke), but I have nooo idea what I'm supposed to be buying... no clue whatsoever...

The only thing I know is that I don't wanna break the bank AND if I'm gonna have to spend money, I want it to be totally worth it....

I have a home theater system, but it's basically like 5 mini speakers that came with my sony dvd player...that's about it when it comes to sound...

I saw a "dvd player" on acekaraoke that plays different types of media, and holds 400 discs... is that necessary? I just keep imagining the thing getting a ton of discs getting stuck or something...   :O

Help!!    Any great suggestions?

are you wanting to play discs, play on computer (streaming or downloaded  - hopefully legally downloaded ones), what?

Knowing what KIND of media you want to play will help us help you!

well, originally I thought discs...but then i read all this stuff about downloaded types... is that harder to obtain?  Also, aren't there players that have a harddrive too?

There are only a couple of 'legal' download sites.  If you went computer route, it would still be better to purchase your discs then import them into the computer/hard drive system.  Even for home use, you don't want to download illegally.

Ok, so it sounds like I should go the disc way either way... so which players do you guys recommend?

And I read somewhere about obtaining different speakers for karaoke... what brands/kinds/etc..?

I really appreciate the help! I'm not sure where else to turn! Thanks!!
