how do i connect my laptop to a tv without having s-video out somebody told me there is a converter that does it

a vga out perhaps?  you gotta have something out....

yes vga but need a converter to connect to tv which one do i use

that depends on your TV.  what kind of In does it have?  the regular RCA? component? or S video?  Do a simple google search for vga to rca, or vga to component or vga to S video you should be able to find what you're looking for.  

I use s out to s in... so I have not really experienced with the converters.

A while back, I found a site that had a BUNCH of discontinued s-video to rca connectors...



.59 cents each. Initially I bought four. As you can see, the ones I have are only a few inches long.

I haven't had ONE go out on me!. I ended up buying twenty of the suckers! Still got the bag of 'em... I think I've lost a couple in my move, doing mobiles, etc... but never had one go "bad".  EASILY the best investment I ever had!

I run singer monitor vga, can I also run s/video to big screen at the same time....

I assume you are using a computer.  If you computer has both VGA & S-Video outs, then yes you should be able to set up the video card to display on both outputs.
