I recently purchased a karaoke system for my house and is very disappointed with it. Speakers broke the first week of usage. So after searching, I see a local guy selling the following. Just wondering if this is any good for home usage? pro/cons on these would be very helpfull. I'm stressing so researching hasn't been great. So please help. thanks

These are slightly used for a few weeks he said. and everything is for $500

All for $500 isn't a bad deal.  Speakers aren't the greatest, but for home use, may work out ok.  Make sure it all works before you purchase though.

I would be asking WHY is he getting rid of it?

Perhaps you could get him to give you a weeks try of it all, just to make sure there is nothing wrong with it.

That mixer has been discontinued for awhile, so it must be more than a few weeks old. Price everything from an on-line music store, and ebay....I'll never pay more than 50 cents on the dollar from what I could get it new.......are there warranties, and are they transferable?.....just some of the questions to ask yourself.....do a web search on that pow/mix......mic too......good luck

Not necessarily.  Stores often times get stock or find stock that got misplaced or mislabled or whatever.  It's not uncommon to see an older unit pop up as new on occasion.
Besides he didn't state it was a few weeks old, he stated it was used for a few weeks.

That's what he posted on his ad. I'm stopping by to check it out tommorrow so hopefully everything works great. I did do some research and found that the speakers are not that great but the rest is ok. If bought new, it would prob. cost around what he posted.

.......bought 2 years ago.....just like me thinks......500 is good price provided everything works great....you could actually do some small venues with it.......I have several sets of speakers, and I usually use my PR 15s.......I really like them....some people will disagree, but I like Peavey products.....Yamaha makes some great mixers and amps(speakers and everything too), but every manufacturer has a bad model now and then..........does this guy live close enough to get your hands around his neck, if need be.........see if he'll give you some type of short term warranty....in writting....doesn't hurt to ask.........keep in mind.....I am one paranoid dude.....

He wants it for his house, not venues.  And again, he didn't state it was a few weeks old.

It could have been interpeted as such, and as you said, this certainly could be a possibility.....just trying to clear things up....
