Just recently acquired several Disney karaoke discs from a KJ getting out of the business (along with the rest of his collection). One of the discs plays normally, but the lyrics don't show up on the other disc. The disc is not scratched in any way - looks like new. I have a CAVS machine, but also tried the disc in another host's Nutech machine, and the same thing happened. He mentioned that he also has several Disney karaoke discs that do the same thing. Does anyone know if some of their discs have the lyrics on some funky channel? I've never run into this problem (but have never owned Disney brand discs).

If i'm not mistaken, some of the songs did not come with the graphics, just the music. I know some companies that used to do this anyway.

I bought a Disney "Karaoke" CD that was nothing more than an audio CD with a lyrics booklet. It is probably not in CD-G format. That one was a rip off!

not necessarily! That's the way they put them out initially. Karaoke by it's definition is only the backing music, allowing you to sing along. The first ones out were on audio tape, vhs tape, and some karaoke cds had no lyrics.
Heck, Pocket Songs cd+gs put out a few disney songs, and they ran into trouble. An example is the Elton John "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", and they were DENIED licensing for the sync... so the track I got had no onscreen lyrics.
