Hello again, Was checking out the singers showcase where you can put in a song and get some feed back and was wondering just how do you record your tracks and how you put them on there. I guess there are instructions on how to get the track on the forum but what I really would like to hear is how some of you record your stuff, hardware, software etc.. and how you get it into your computer or do you just record straight to the computer and if so what through? Thanks, evilstepdad |

some use recording software like Audacity, Cool Edit Pro2 (CEP) ... do a search on those, and you'll see some threads on those and how to use them. Others like myself recorded them off computer, and then imported them. Once there, I compressed them into mp3 format. For submission here, I compressed it further for space considerations. Have fun! |

hiya evilstepdad, I have a wicked step mother are you related? I record using cool edit pro. then as knightshow says I save it as mp3. saving at 128kbps means that it is approx 1mb per minute of audio. So if you have a longer than 3 min song you may have to save at a lower bitrate. I am not sure about any other progs but CEP has an options button on the save box pressing that will give you the option to save at a lower bitrate to compress it under 3mb (if you are using the free subscription) Hope this helps. Feel free to pm me if you require more help, I have a beginners tutorial to CEP that covers the very basics and am happy to let you have it |

I personally purchased a system last fall and then, eventually, bought a small MP3 player/recorder at RS for under $50 that I plug in to the mixer and record directly off the mixer as MP3 files. I then load directly onto my computer and upload to the site. |
