Post subject: | Balanced - Unbalanced mics? |
Hi Guys, I've bought a CAVS 105G player which came with a M-10 mic and cable. One end of the cable has a XLR connector the other end a 1/4 inch plug (unbalanced - only 1 black ring around it). I've also bought a SONY F-V 420 mic with the same cable as the CAVS mic. The question is can I change these cables with XLR-XLR cables (balanced). Or is there such a thing as balanced and unbalanced mics? Thanks everyone in advanced for your help and input. Happy Karaokeing. |

I don`t see why you couldn`t use XLR TO XLR cbles on your mic. |

If you are hooking the mics directly into the CAVS unit, no need to change cables since the CAVS unite (I assume) dose't have XLR inputs. Now if you are suing a seperate mixer, yes you can use XLR to XLR cables. |

With a separate mixer, this would be the preferred connection also. |
