It's my understanding (and I'm asking because I don't know) that Singers Showcase related chatter must stay contained to Singers Forum ? Was the Singers Forum designed as an off-shoot of the Showcase ? Also with the new Off-Topic room, NOTHING that doesn't directly relate to "Karaoke and Karaoke activity" is allowed in the Discussion Forum, however Tech and equipment related chatter is to be contained to the "Tech Room", while those who KJ have the option of joining The KJ room, etc ? Hence definition and topic related chatter has become more critical with the addition of options for discussion ? Thanks |

You're right Steven. Ideally the thread topics should be placed into the most appropriate forum room. I don't know why, but for some reason the karaoke discussion forum is like the "big living room" of the "KS house". If people want to make sure their thread is seen, it tends to end up in the karaoke discussion forum. Granted it shouldn't be there if it's off topic. |

Singer's Forum Here you can ask a question, make a comment, or just chat about the Singer's Showcase. Want to offer someone a suggestion or request that they perform a certain song. Do that here. Also, you may want to make Requests - Suggestions - Challenges. Karaoke Discussion Forum This is the place to talk about anything KARAOKE! Technical Questions Do you have a technical question regarding Karaoke Hardware and Software, ask it here. One of the Karaoke Scene Staff or our fabulous "TECHIE" members will get you an answer. The Lounge (Off Topic) This section is for all "Non-Karaoke" Topics... An open platform area to discuss just about anything but the rules do apply!!! Have fun. Newbie Intro New to the site? Please, take a moment to introduce yourself here. Let everyone know a little about you. KJs ONLY This forum has been set asside for KJs to discuss things of importance to them. Seems to me it's pretty well explained in the Toggle Descriptions, Steven. Perhaps when a moderator sees a thread started in the wrong Forum, he could simply move it to the correct one. Is that a "do-able" and/or "reasonable" thing to ask of you, Jian and P.hill???? It sure would help folks find what they are looking for sooner .... and I would imagine be easier to "patrol", as well. |

another thing doable is merely to explain to a newbie (or someone that's creating them in the wrong area by mistake or just absentmindedness) the appropriate place to put them. Hey, we've ALL had conversations that just take off, and go off tangent. I'm not against that, until it just goes On and ON and ON AND ONNNNN!!! I see (Miss) Milo's smilin', cherubic face, and I want to shout out "HEY MILO!", or Crystal, or my friend Jonathan that posted for the first time in a long time (at least in these parts of the site). That's human nature. Rarely at work do you stay on topic all 8 hours long. But to seriously expect tech help in the singer's forum, or off-topic... yeah, point them to the appropriate section. |

The only thing I will say here, is that posting in Singers Forum has very little interest, and typically gets few replies. It requires that members request special permission to post there. For that reason I believe many SS threads of interest were posted in Karaoke Forum. IMO it generated quite a bit more replies than you would have ever seen in Singers Forum. Seems a lot of general interest stuff gets posted in Karaoke Forum to make sure it is actually seen by members. |

The singer's forum is usually reserved for subjects relative to half of this site's objective, which is why it's usually overlooked. |
