I bought the Power Burner software and the Karaoke Sound Tools. So far I have been able to rip and alter the keys without a problem. However, as everyone knows, life can't be that easy. I can't get the Power Burner to burn the copies I have altered onto a CD-R. I keep getting this "burn process failed" error. I have gone down the list: Yes, I am using a regular CD-R (Maxwell Audio CD-R) Yes, I tried switching between disc at one and session at once modes Yes, I tried switching between CDR DAO and Internal burning Mode Yes, I have tried different burning speeds. (changed it from 8x to 1x through using the Set Default). Yes, I have updated the software to make sure there are no new updates out there. Ok folks...I need some more clues here. HELP (Yes, I am awaiting some input from the troubleshooting guys that sold me the software...but paitence is not one of my strong suits....so I thought someone might want to "show off" and fix it before them!!!) Personally, I am thrilled that I was able to get to this point since I am "one french fry short of a Happy Meal" where computers are concerned. THANKS!! |

What CD burner are you using? Some are capable of reading the CD+G format, but can't write it. Can you burn a regular audio CD? |

I just tried to burn a song from a regular (no karaoke) CD (saved it to My Library) and burned it to a brand new Memorex CD-RW on Real Player. The process went fine...but when I tried to take that burned CD and play it on a cd player....the player literally said NO. (I have never had a CD player be so rude!!) LOL Will I perhaps have to purchase an external Power Burner??? It is so sad. I have 16 beautifully altered karaoke songs sitting on my computer and no way to get them HOME. UPDATE: I was able to burn a copy of a regular song from My Library onto a regular CD-R with no problem. |

Can you burn a regular audio CD? The Office Depot around the corner sells a Sony CD R, RW, etc etc etc external burner that the box says is Power Burn compatible. Anyone had any experience with these. It is only $44. |

That is becasue it is a CD-RW, and the CD player you tried it on probably can't read a CD-RW. Unless you have a CD player that says it will read CD-RWs, burn your music on a AUDIO CDR using Disc At Once. |

So at least I know my driver works. Why it won't burn the cdg is another story. I am still waiting to hear back from the tech support. It seems to be a real mystery to them. If I knew the Sony external burner would work, I would spend the $44. I just don't want to spend more money for it not to work. I knew I should have just sent the discs to you!!! But we decided to got on the Carnival Cruise Ship (Fantasy) again next month and that is the one that I know the key selector does not work on. So I decided to see just how smart I was....or as it appears I was NOT and do it myself. Everything went soooo smoothly until it was time to burn it. just my luck!! BTW< do you guys do karaoke at any local clubs? Hubby and I are planning a motorhome trip out towards Idaho the first week of June and I would love to pencil in some karaoking along the way. thanks again for all the direction.... |

some players will never recognise re-writables. Hell even laptops will spit the dummy. I know I attempted to play music off a re-writable once and my lappy just kept locking up. |

So true. I had a rewritable and it was the only drive that could read the disks it burned. Didnt even read all of them. |

I didn't see anywhere in the thread (maybe I missed it), but I'm assuming these are karaoke tracks you're ripping to the computer so you can change the pitch on the music and then burn back to CD. I'm assuming you ripped the audio to wav files and you also ripped the cdg files as well. You should have also made the finished audio into wav files. Before burning them to CD, you need to convert them to bin files. There are a couple of programs that can do that... MP3+G Toolz is the most popular. Once you have them all converted to bin files load them into Power CD+G Burner and they should burn fine onto a CD-R disc. I usually use 650MB CD's for karaoke, but most 700MB's will work too (Maxell's the best for my $). I would not use 800MB CD's for karaoke. I would burn them at no more than 8x, assuming you have a 40x or faster burner. Of course, I'm also assuming you have a burner that can burn cd+g. Not all can, and very few are really rated for cd+g. If you only want to burn this 1 CD, you might be better off getting a friend to do it if you know they've burned cd+g before. If you intend to burn more, go buy a Plextor burner. They're not nearly as expensive these days as they used to be, and I've found a few good deals on eBay too. They're simply the best for burning cd+g. Hope I found your problem in here somewhere . |

b Flat, Power CD+G Burner burns MP3+G and ZIP files so there is no need for any additional tools for converting them to BIN. |

I've been using TDK CD-R using power karaoke burner and it works just fine with the plextor 740u. At first I was having problems with sony, memorex etc CD-R's. But I have found the TDK's work great with crisp clean graphics as well. BTW Mr. Powerkaraoke awesome product, Thank you |

find and buy a PLEXTOR CDR drive or DVD drive that does CDR writes your problems will go away...... Some Sony CDR drives work some don't. So be careful. Rosewill is another brand that works like a charm for me. |
