Hi! I've just registered here, and am glad to have found this resource. My situation is a bit unusual. I'm an American in Japan, and have been here for about 7 years. About 5 years ago, when I grew tired of the same old English songs at the local karaoke places, I got on the internet, and found out about CD+Gs and MP3+Gs. I have never looked back! Karaoke here in Japan is much different than the US or UK. About twice a month, I head to a local karaoke "studio," which is a building with 10-50 small rooms, each equipped with its own karaoke player and TV. You can pay by the hour or a flat rate, including a drink special. I often get strange looks because I have no qualms about singing karaoke alone. My record is 12 hours straight. :drunk: I always drag my laptop, outboard audio unit and microphone, and hook everything up to the hardware in the room. Hey there! Welcome to karaoke in the states.... 
Your situation is very interesting....would be great to have the karaoke clubs as you're describing....I don't know of anything like that here except in my living room! I also use the scdgs and cdg's.... I hope you enjoy yourself here and sub a song soon! I'll be looking for ya! :D Cheers! Elaine |

Welcome to the insanity of it all! What you describe is what isn't available here either. Now I've bought my own gear (amp, speakers, player, mics, disks) I'm able to sing at home ... if I could only get some time on it without sharing with the wife, daughter, her friends ....... |

A photo from last night. We had an all-you-can-sing-and-drink special until 5am, but had to leave around 11. My buddy was under the weather, and I had to catch the last train back to my island (Kyushu). Such a waste!
