If all failed you could you rely on your voice ?

Not in my case. I've tried and it did not go as well as I had hoped.

I'm not sure, but I do know this, singing is work.  It's a lot harder that most think.  Singing is just the glamor part of the job.

If your sick and can't cut it for a night then you gotta rely on personality and wit. But for the most part my vocals are usually reliable. I'm more comfortable behind a drum set though.

Its a moot question. Of course you could depend on your non singing voice. I was taking retard pills right before i started this thread, Not that i require them to act retarded or to my nature.

I let my customers sing & have their fun. I only sing if I have to, or if they really want me to

I'm not sure what the meaning is of "if all else failed".  I know I could fill in any gaps by singing.  I would rather it not become necessary.  And if it became necessary I would  hope I wouldn't have to sing more than once an hour.  Not that I can't sing more, I would prefer not to.  The singing is for the paying customers!

In fact, I have just taken my old saxophones out of "mothballs" to see if I can get my chops back?  Perhaps I could use the sax to fill in dead air rather than my having to sing that much?  Any opinions on that?

Outside of singing at weddings ..... I doubt I could make a cent with my singing voice.........  but...... my talking voice has been making me my do-ri-me ..... for years.  I'm a teacher and a speech-language pathologist.    :handshake:
