The ultimate thrill of Karaoke is singing songs very well in a venue with the culmination of wild applause.

The ultimate high, Nothing beats it.

Your take...

I agree with you Big Jimmy C.  I also like the thrill of Kamikazee Karaoke and when you nail that it is really cool.  The rush of adrenaline.  The roar of the crowd.

Jimmy C. if that's the ultimate karaoke thrill you should get out more.

Try it without the karaoke.  Now that's a kick.

I really like it when people stop me on the way back to my seat to tell me I was great...It is an awesome feeling...Although I am ussually a bit shy at that moment. (don't anyone laugh.. I do have my shy moments)

I too like the trill of the kamikazee karaoke...  That is always a rush and a lot of fun..Nothing like the word to a song you've never heard of or sung popping up on the screen and panicinking...LOL.. Oh yeah that is fun!!!

The ultimate thrill for me has been getting heard at karaoke and being asked to sing at other functions.  Taking it to the next level.

Going back to my seat after singing a song and having someone ask me to sing at their wedding.  That was a thrill for me!!

Also ..... learning just how much talent there really is in this world.  Its been such a thrill to get to hear so many marvelous voices!!!

The biggest thrill is going into a new place where no one knows you and when in front of the mic start yakking to the crowd.. They know in 2 seconds that you are not the typical klaraoke singer.. Those are the times I choose songs that I know by heart and never look at the screen. One is After The Lights Go Out.. Eveybody in the place is glued on your performance.. Sometimes at the end there is little applause for they are inn shock...But the buzzing of the crowd and you can feel the energy increase and can feed off of it.. I would rather have one person say that was awesome rather than applause

It helps if one has the ear for it and can sing with the best.. But I have seen people who couldnt carry a tune in a bucket that were crowd favorites for it was coming from the heart and they were having fun..

There is nothing like the magic of singing to a crowd of hundreds and feeling the magic and reflecting energy of the crowd.. It is a high almost as great as a spiritual high for for awhile time does not exist there are no worldly problems and the old body doesnt ache..

When families stopped praying and singing together was the begiinning of the decline of many great nations..

You can talk all the legalities and put any monetary amount on it you want.. If one sings a song and one person in the crowd sprouts wings with his soul and flies to a high that some never know, then that song is set free and belongs to no one Remember the saying If you love someone or something set it free. If it is ordained it will return ..I dont have an ounce of respect for any of the liberals in the entertainment field They arer fueled by greed and want to ell everybody else how to think and live..

Music and singing is an integral part of my being and when folks want to equate it with money, greed, fame, or try to shackle it with legalities that are induced by greed I tend to come unglued..

Having someone come up and say 'That song really moved me, thank you so much for singing it' while shaking my hand only to find out when I look they've given me a 50 dollar tip. The appreciation alone is worth it, but the extra makes it all that much more special. :D

Its better than ANY DRUG!!

Better than that first big hit of Heroin.

Better than that first big hit of Meth.

Karaoke is MUSICAL CRACK!!

One hit and you're hooked for life.

I so agree James.... My greatest karaoke moment ever was after singing a Patsy Cline song, an elderly gentleman at the bar walked over to my table after I had sat down, he had tears in his eyes. He looked scruffy, homeless perhaps. He said the song I had just sung held very special memories for him and he thanked me for singing it. Music is the ultimate language of the heart. We may get a rush out of the attention, or the fact we nailed a song perfectly, but I think the best thing is knowing that we can affect someone so profoundly... perhaps at the lowest point in their life. I felt the power of music that night.

When I'm doing a song that just flows it feels a little like flying.

You just can't get the same thrill during a dance number.... :O

During the scheduled karaoke show....as a singer.

You know during all of the dance sets, while you could be getting that thrill of singing... :O

I think those that love to dance would beg to differ with you.  For a Karaoke singer, its singing.  For a Dancer.. its dancing.  Music has many forms ... and touches people in many ways.

Now, you see, Kurt, that would be a nightmare for me!

I get a big rush when the bar goes dead silent so they can hear me sing. I get the ego boost and hopefully they get the emotional whatever-it-is-you-get-from-music.

A singer can not get the thrill of singing, if they always play dance music.

My thinking coincides with Chuck.

I have been complimented extensively for my dancing.  And was offered a position to teach C&W partner dancing, which lead to my teaching in several locations.

My singing has also been applauded and has attracted the attention of a local agent.

I neither dance nor sing for accolades.  The satisfaction I derive from both is generated from within.  Nailing a new song (without rehearsal) can only, for me, be compared to nailing a intricate dance routine.  It's like, I imagine, hitting a home run in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.  The cheers of the fans may be appreciated, but nailing the ball is the ultimate feeling!

Well I agree with GIGI about the bar going silent for a serious singing effort. But Brickhouse is not a serious singing eff0rt----its a party song. Get em all up and moving around. Get the party rollin'. Now if I were singing something like Bridge Over Troubled Water, then yes everyone better sit down and pay attention. So the choice of song dictates crwod reaction.
