Post subject:  mixing

This may seem a simple question to most,  especially since most of us on SS mix  but 2  tracks, the backing track  and our vocals.  But would anyone  care to share there technique? My personal goal is to sound as  normal  and  natural as possible with the music.  There are some  excellent singers here,  and  I was hoping that you would share your  recipe for a nice final mix.    Thank you all...

There are eq adjustments that can be made to make the voice stand out from the rest of the music - no set standard, completely independent for each song & singer.  Your vocals shouldn't be overpowering to the music but a nice overlay.  Effects should be used sparingly, you shouldn't be able to actually hear the effect, but would notice if it wasn't there - unless it is a song where the effect itself plays an important part of the song.
No real recipe, it is a matter of what sounds good.
