Post subject:  Stop the mud slinging
Hey, I have come to the conclusion that this has become nothing but a giant mud - sling and I am tired of it. Whether or not someone is an expert or not....I think everyone should feel comfortable enough to leave an honest opinion on a sub. I thought SS was supposed to be a place where people could come and sing for fun(I have noticed a lot of people are no longer subbing(I am to the point to where I am about ready to stop subbing) I have noticed on my last sub that I upset a couple of people and now everyone is afraid to comment at all. Grow up folks!  - Tonya Edit: Oops, I think I made some people mad over on another thread....oh well. LOL

well i feel mud-slinging can be fun at times...but that's just me...when i started the CRITIQUE Thread, i clearly stated that i wasn't talking about the pro's an con's of critiquing, just what people thought about Listener x....

having said that, i'm not stupid either in knowing that the thread was going to go wherever it wanted to....yes it even made it to the showers...lolll....
big deal...how many people in talking to someone stayed to the topic?  that's no fun....

fact is no one feels comfortable leaving completely honest critiques. because most on here r nice people not wanting to hurt other's feelings......

critiquing  to me is just 1 that's ONE persons opinion, nothing more nothing less...even the people that r supposed to know what they're talking about r dumber than dirt sometimes....
u like what u like and it's as simple as that...

i fluff, i'll  be the first to admit it,  big deal....if u want  me to be serious about critiquing ur song then tell me personally ok r a pm...loll..if u say pleaseeeeeeeee be honest with me, then i will,no problem....

but again it would only be my opinion.....for what it's worth....

you say ss should be a fun place  yet u also say u feel everyone should feel comfortable giving their honest opinion,  those two will never work together...

if u can't sing very well and u get truly honest opinions on every song pretty soon u would leave,  and yes there's always some good in what someone does, but now u r asking their honest opinion BUT don't be tooooo honest....

for that person i feel he/she shouldn't be critiqued...not yet anyway....but a little help would be nice, in a pm r whatever, and even then u better be careful...u might come off to that person as someone who thinks he/she knows it all.

nothing's easy it seems...not even in the real would so why here? kids can't even play on a swing without fighting sometimes...so why not here?  and for some the fighting is fun....makes things interesting, plus no bloody noses...it all works out anyway...

i'm glad u do take ur music and singing serious but sometimes it can be taken too seriously....what's fun to u might not be fun to others,

i know for a fact that there r some on here that loveeee to start things up...mainly because they're bored,  and want to see reactions,  that's their fun....to each his own....ur fun might be in seeing that person kicked out of here,   Steven u can run but u can't hide....

It seems that the combination of singing for FUN on SS and receiving/giving HONEST comments doesn't always work out too well!  It'd be great if it did though.

Some Folks here need to get a life -  Once again let me reiterate, I’m not sleeping with you and you’re not paying my bills, so folks, there is no way that anything you have to say about my singing that is going to hurt my feeling.  I just want someone to listen to my subs and comment, critique, or what ever I else you want to do.  It's fine with me.

Normal? Morgan what I need is for you to get back over to the other Critique thread and get me out of that shower.

Serious note:

I really haven't seen anything that I'd really call mud slinging in the comments.  I did see a few negative comments though and after listening to a few of the commented subs I came to the conclusion that the individuals making the negative comments were really trying being nice.  For myself I only have two critique modes - I really like your singing or I really don't like your singing.  But then who cares what I think?

now please stop looking for compliments and silly assurances...I am the wrong person to give them. I like people for their personalities...but more importantly for their SELF worth. Do not come to me for a validation of self cos if you dont love yourself dont expect anyone else to.
And dont mistake ego for self worth they are two entirely different things
