I might be the only one but I've been using Vegas 4.0, which is elementally a video editing/production software (it's convenient because I use it as part of my job to start with) but it has excellent audio and mixing capabilities.  Information on the audio side of this software is hard to come by, so anyone that possibly does use this or has more knowledge of it's audio components, please let me know as I have some questions and seek some advice on several settings involved.  Would be happy to share what I know as well.  Thanks, Michael

Michael, you might try sending a PM to Odie. He doesn't get in here much I don't think, but I do know for a fact that he has Vegas (Studio). I have it also, but I'm not as familiar with it as Odie is... I just use it here & there for video editing.

Thanks Charmin..Odie is also a great source of info--by the way, you might try playing with this software and making a recording--see what you think! (Your subs always sound very good whatever you use!)  Michael

Thanks Michael. I really don't have much of a setup, I just use a little ( i think it's THE littlest you can get, haha) mixer w/my sm58 & CEP.

You can RECORD with Vegas? Gosh, you're gonna have me sitting up all night playing with it now:) Thanks.... and good luck to ya with using it. I'm sure there's alot it can do that I'm unaware of. (I haven't had it too long)

Soitenly! Let me know if I can help you with any of that--if nothing else, it can do a lot to make your video sound tracks sound better too of course!

Well, apparently..... I'm a bit ignorant & got confused. (who'd have thunk it?) haha

"studio" is the Pinnacle software I have, Vegas is another I have. So I was calling the name wrong. Silly me.... not that that's "extra info", Odie just informed me that I was sounding a bit like a dunce:)

Blame him, HE gave me the software to use with his camcorder here at my house:) Too much info into my brain at once got everything all intertwined.

And yes, Michael, if you don't mind.... someday when I have the time I may well ask you for some advice on using Vegas to record. I'm always up for trying something new.

I haven't used anything in there to enhance the audio portion when I capture it either... I've been very lazy about just leaving it "as is". And I could use that knowledge, since alot of what I use video for is filming music stuff.

Thank you.

LOL  No Charmin, you came up with the "I was sounding a bit like a dunce:)" concept on your own! But yes, I do tend to pile a lot of programs on you at once.

Thanks to all for their suggestions...James (man in black) pointed out a very good website that from what I've seen might just be the ticket! Michael
