I just got the news this week--the new guy they hired in my department is another FEMALE. My supervisor told me now I would have somebody to talk to. I don't want to talk to another female at work...I love my guys! I mean, what if she is on the Tupperware circuit or something. AAAAAARGH!

If she does pampered chef sign me up for a chopper or send me to a party. I promise I won't flirt, I'll be too busy looking at the catalog.

When a man matures enuff to stop being intimidated by female ways he learns how to form platonic friendships with girl friends.. My closest confidantes are younger gals that I have a father daughter type relationship with.. That type of Love is priceless and never known by some..
When I am talking to a stranger and she talks about her past marriage I can tell in minutes what her baggage is If she once says WE in telling the story then I know she is worth it. There are some that are still carrying on a battle with 2 or 3 divorced husbands and I cant get away from them quick enough..
I would rather have a woman boss any day if she understands what a man and woman is and is not carried away with the immature crap of womens lib.. And if we want to innocently flirt with each other it is nobody's businees but our own This liberal society is totally out of control...It is the greediest and most unforgivving and corrupt of all time..
Any problem is solved by putting children on drugs or putting them in jail...It is totally out of control..

Or is it the other way around. When a man matures enough to form platonic relationships without clutter (caused by cultural and testosterone charged more's with females regarding the mating dance) it makes it easier to stop perceiving innuendo ?

Holy moly, guys! I don't know if y'all can tell where I am coming from with my remark; I SURE can't tell where y'all are! Except Chuck; he is sitting right behind me.
The world of I.T. is very male-dominated. I am neither complaining nor gloating; it is a fact. Out of the 60 or so people on my floor, six of us are women. My particular department is a bunch of shoot-from-the-hip renegades and I love them all dearly--even the ones who drive me crazy on a daily basis. I am the Token Female in a group of 12 people. I am blessed to be one of the guys in all the good ways--they will flirt with me, deal with my double entendres, and are still comfortable enough to fart in front of me. Okay I don't appreciate the farts, but their comfort level is a good thing.
Adding another woman is going to change the dynamic of our dirty dozen. I don't want to be automatically bunched in the "the other woman" in the group. Women can be cut-throat towards each other. Now, I don't expect that to be the case here, but I have loved working with my guys for the past six years, and it is about to change. That makes me sad.

From now on the boss will ask you girls to take charge of making the coffee and leave the real work for to the guys. When did you say that you were scheduling your first party? By the way I hear she hates Karaoke.

Imagine being a man working in a school district!!! I think the ratio of women to men exceeds 10:1. All I seem to hear about is man bashing, quilting, Princess House, Tupperware, and all sorts of other 'home shopping' opportunities. Oh, did I mention I work with safety & workers' compensation? Oh, the medical stories I hear!

I'm with ya GiGi..... I work MUCH better with men in the office than with women.
I don't know why, I think it's cause (even in the workplace) women try to get some competition thing going on, and it just drives me nuts...
The last place I worked at, I was the lone female in the office, and I loved it. The place I work at now.... there are many female co-workers. I work alot of the times with my male boss though (him and his wife own & work there jointly)... and I must say, I prefer working with him alone. Not that any of these women have done anything at all to warrant that, I've just always preferred working with/for men. Women can be catty in the office place...
Atleast... you were there first:) haha

WHAT ? Dave, the only location that is worse than Silicon Valley in terms of males vastly outnumbering females is Alaskan regions (of course not all), consider yourself VERY lucky...
Ooops, sorry I forgot, you are married
