I've been lurking in the back for a few weeks now listening to a lot of subs.  I must say, I think I've stepped in over my head.  The most of you here apparently have something I do not, talent.  But karaoke is not necessarily a show-off talent oriented sport, but more so of a fun sport.  So that's exactly what I intend on doing, having some fun.  Feel free to laugh along with, or at me, if you feel the need.

A special thanks to those few home-state locals who have already welcomed me here, as well as to those few I've added to my buddy list.  I can't wait until your next subs.

I see that you and my wife do have something in common.  The ability to lie, lie as in to stretch the truth, as well as the ability to LIE on bed for days.   Yep, she's good that way too.  LOL
You both also have the ability to make me smile with your song.
Thanks for the welcome to y'alls world.

why would I lie? what on earth do you mean to me? I would be the least politically correct person you are likely to meet. So you may take my word. Stop getting your knickers in a knot becos I suggested you try a song down a semi tone

Uh oh... I didn't mean it that way.  I didn't mind your semitone comment.  As a matter of fact, I need all the help I can get.  I was merely joking about your statement regarding my talent.  Sorry if my humor is not on the same page as yours.  And who said I wear knickers?   LOL

Welcome to KS

I'm sure you will fit in fine here. We have all levels of talent in SS. Remember this is supposed to be for fun and sing your heart out. (with or without knickers  LMAO )

The phrase "Lower (or raise) it a semitone" is an oft mentioned phrase in some people's comment boxes--to the point of being a cliche almost (a half step up or down is not going to make a huge difference at all really),  and having accompanied singers on they piano myself, I've never found it to hold true, so take it with a grain of salt (or paprika, whatever your preference) Bent!  You have a fine voice is all I know!

I'm not totally musically challenged.  A semitone down was a new phrase to me but I took it to mean a half step flat.  I too know one half step down is not gonna make much difference not even when it drops from the key of C to B, which is also a "semitone."  I did take music in school and can peck out just about anything on a piano, play horns, almost play the harmonica, and I've got playing the radio down pat.

I mentioned this "semi-tone" business only as it shows up frequently as "advice" in comment boxes so often it's pitiful! One sometimes thinks this piece of advice is given out too gratuitously at times!  I myself can hear a car horn beep outside and immediately play the the key it's in on the piano so I don't think my ears fail me too often regarding this up and down a half step stuff.
