We are getting the thunder and lightning but I'm not seeing any tornado warnings. Maybe if I turn on the TV I might see something.

Updated: must be somethin'. The weather guy is on instead of cartoons or whatever they show this time of the day. He mentioned a lot of warnings and is speaking very fast.

We have a couple of tornadoes in the area.

I think I'll go take a nap.

Darn civil defense sirens woke me up.

It looks like there's a swirly headed toward my house.

Hope you have a safe place to go to chuck, do you have a basement? or heck if it gets too bad jump in the bath tub and cover up with a mattress...etc or get somewhere you know you will have a chance to be safe if it does happen to head your way.  Keep us informed buddy  :handshake:

It looks like the swirl just went away. We usually have a beer during these events. Maybe I should go get some beer.

We don't have a basement but we have other plans if needs be.

I don't expect it to be as bad as what Lonnie had to go through a short time ago. We will get a few tornadoes but that happens a lot. The winds should only get up to 60 mph.

It's nice and sunny here in CA, just a bit cold (that means it's dropped below 60 during the day). It does get cold during the night, it dips below 40. It's no Florida but I like this crisp, dry weather, nothing like 95% humidity in the south.

Wet wet rain a lots of rain here since x'mas. More rain expected.

The worse part is that there was an eartqueck near Taiwan and some big under sea cables got broken; internet in most parts of South East Asian countries came to almost a stand still. It is still slow now, it takes me ages to connect to this site.

It will be WET New Year for us here.

Clear and Currently 42 degrees with winds 4 mph from the East.

Low of 35 expected

Tomorrow appears to be a nice day with Partly Coudy skies and a High of 54

Now back to you in the forum...

Post subject:  Re: BOOM BOOM! out go the lights!

All is good here now.. A lot of rain and mild flooding.. A little hail...I got caught in it coming home today.  The car was rocking, hail was coming down and I WAS SCARED!!!!  Way worse for me than the last earthquake I was in, in Seattle...It passed after about 5 minutes and I was able to get back on the road...I don't think my car got any damaged...But I sure was traumatized..Bad part of this is that I was less than a mile from my house and I couldn't get there before the bad stuff hit...

One thought that ran through my mind while the car was rocking and it was hailing pretty good with really high winds was : "So...Do I leave my seat belt on?? Or do I take it off?? If it's a tornado then am I more likely to survive if I am strapped in or not??"   I chose to keep the belt on thinking that at least I woul have the body of the car as somewhat protection and I wouldn't be thrown from the car...

I'm glad that is over for now....
