Post subject:  RSQ E500 Problem

I just recently purchased a RSQ e500 and after hooking it up after the present unwrapping today it will not play some of my CDG's.  I will play all the crappy SGB discs, SC, Perfromers Choice, and the All Hits Variety Pack.  It will not play a Heart Legends CD, Just Tracks CD, and the All Hits 2000 16 disc set.  All of the discs except the All hits and Legends have been played before on different players.  Im just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem before and i needs advice.  I purchased the machine brand new froma karaoke company on Ebay.  Should I contact them or RSQ directly.  Thanks for any info.

Since the machine was purchased brand new from a company, it should be under warranty. I would first contact the RSQ folks first, just to see if they might have encountered this problem before. From what I've read, there have been several quirks with this particular model.

Thanks for the info guys. I purchased the item off ebay and the guy's email address is from Media sync, so it appears he works for RSQ/MediaSync.  He provided me a phone number to call him to arrange an exchange.

sorry for the delayed response Ive been down with a nasty nasty stomach virus.  Probably the Bubonic -Botch-West-Bird Flu

Did the illness come with the machine?

Not that anyone cares, but here is an update.  Apparently RSQ sells overstocked items on Ebay.  I contacted the customer service, they gave me a return number, I sent it back, and they are going to either repair or replace the player.  They advised the problems I had are not common, but I do not believe that.  I hoping they just replace the item.  They have recieved the item and it was scheduled to be looked at this week.  I will update everyone when the item returns.

Contacted RSQ today to get another update.  Apparently they could not fix the product that was sent back.  They have replaced the player with a new machine and have gotten my personal cd out of the player and packaged it with the new player.  It was shipped today so I should have it within the week.  I got a great deal on the player @ $175 new + 26 All Hits Discs.  Couple that with the 18 dollars to ship it back to RSQ and I'm still 200 bills for the player and 26 All Hits Discs.  I cant wait to get my player back.

I also bought a new RSQ E500 on ebay in mid December from lightyearmusic.com which turns out to be somehow related to CheaperKaraoke.com aka Karaoke Kandy Store out of Parma OH. Anyway I am having exactly the  same problem with CDG discs not loading as well as regular CDs. The machine simply displays 'no disc'. I was hoping you  could give me the  phone number you called to get your unit replaced. I have had no response from RSQ via e-mail, but I just notified Karaoke Kandy Store of the  problem via e-mail tonight and  will let you know if they respond.

Thanks  Tyler

Post subject:  Re: RSQ E500 Problem

the number I called was 909-287-0609 ext 202

this was who handled the Ebay sale so I dont know if he can help you out or not.  By the way if you want to buy a brand new E500 I have one for sale. LOL

They replaced the item and my disc that was stuck in the machine.  In the meantime I found a JVC SV-22 refurb for about the same price and picked it up.  Now Im selling the E500.

Hope the number helps you out.

Thanks for the info, I will give it a shot if I can't get support form the seller.
I do need a backup player to use while mine is out for service. Is yours on ebay or how do you want to sell it?

I will be putting it on Ebay unless I find a buyer local or on a forum like this.  The E500 I have is brand new and was only opened to get my cd (which was stuck in the old player) out of the plastic wrap.

The price is $175.00 plus shipping.  And I dont screw anyone on shipping however much it costs me is how much it costs you.  Let me know.

Yeah I'm interested in buying it. Did you try it out to make sure it did not have the same problem as the other unit?

Post subject:  Re: RSQ E500 Problem

Honestly I didn't. If you would like me too I would be more than happy too, but I was trying to preserve the newness of it for sale on Ebay.  Just let me know.  I would prefer a paypal transaction if you would want to purchase it.

Post subject:  Re: RSQ E500 Problem

Well thanks anyway I can actually buy a new one locally from a dealer with a warranty for about the same price. Thanks for the info though. The place that sold me the player have not yet responded to my email just FYI for everone looks like its gonna be a hassle getting them to honor the warranty.

Just an update, RSQ exchanged the faulty unit with no hassle, I was only out $35 to ship it there and back.
