Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a karaoke machine/player for my fiancee. She likes the fact that karaoke is a fun way to perhaps improve your singing. She has played "Karaoke Revolution Party" for Playstation2 and what she like most about it is that it gives a lot of feedback as to how well you are singing, in real-time (not just a score at the end as I have seen on some machines). I don't want to buy a PlayStation2, just for Karaoke, especially since that game only comes with 50 songs. Can anyone recommend a good machine that will give similar real-time feedback to the user? thanks! |

None that i'm aware of, most (if any exist anymore) are based on the scoring system that rate you at the end. Pioneer was the main players that had these, not sure of any others. Pioneer no longer makes those machines anymore. Someone told me the Playstation 2's will play cdg's discs btw, have never tried it myself, don't have one. |

There are about 3-4 sequals to the Karaoke Revolution Party...maybe you should just look into one of these sequals? I have also heard someone say that these "scoring" machines are actually scoring you on simple pitch, and that you can literally hum the song in tune and get a high score, so I'm not sure how much that helps you develop singing quality. I personally don't think you can learn pitch, you either have an ear for it or you don't. It is all of the subtleties of singing (like breathing methods, volume control, mic technique, expression, tone, etc.) that differentiate between a good singer and a great singer, and no machine is going to grade these qualities! |
