Hi,

Does anybody know why in some cases when you use the key going down, the music and the lyrics get out of sync?

The only thing I could think is that you are not using a powerful enough computer, or have too many things running in the background, and when the key change is processing is slowing down the lyrics/graphics.

Check to make sure you have nothing running in the background, and then give it a try.

I agree with twansenne.  What sort of computer do you have and which operating system are you using?

Hi guys,

Thanks for answering. I have an old AMD Athlon 1.3GHz running on a windows 2000. I was testing a software called 'Unify Karaoke', and when I play it in the player without touching the key, it is fine, as soon as I move the key down one tone, the hightlights of the lyrics get out of sync. I was wondering if it is something on the software or is my machine setup. Anyway, I want a software to play karaoke songs at home, and the only thing that I liked about this software, is that you can create a sog book with barcode, and using a wireless barcode scanner, you can add songs to the playlist, without the need to search for anything cool eh?. Well, like I said I was testing the trial version and it was ok for me until I run into this problem.

Do you have a recommendation of a GOOD karaoke software for home use?. I want a good queality sound so I have already purchased a ESI juli@ sound card to added it to my computer, as per the microphone, I am using a mixer and a amplifier. I am not using the connection in the computer for this.

Thanks in advance for your advice.
Cesar

Software is all personal preference, mine is MTU Hoster (there is a Lite version as well if it's just for home use - all their products are also on sale right now also), there are some nice benefits to it, I personally think it sounds better than mp3 based programs - although it does conversion on a wma based proprietary file format, but it will still use your mp3 based files too without harming or having to convert them.
How do you like that Juli@ card, i've been having my eye on that one for quite a while - how would you rate it compared to others such as Sound Blaster.

Since you already are using the MP3+G format, why PAY for anything?

Get Winamp, the free basic version
Get the Mp3+G pluginfor winamp
and get the Pacemaker key changerplugin for winamp

Personal I think Lonman is NUTS when it comes to the KMA (aka WMA) format.  When a song is ripped at a low bitrate  (<192) yea the KMA format is better.  But @ 192> Mp3 is better.  IMHO of course.

Please take no offense Lon,  :dancin:  :dancin: , on the NUTS comment, just ribbing ya again on the ongoing battle of KMAvsMP3+G

And you can use the WINAMP LIBRARY to do your song searches.

Barcodes and books for home use??????  Sure about that?

Thank you Lonman for your comments. As for the Juli@ card i haven't installed yet because I havn't recieved. I am waiting for it. I got it new on ebay for $120.00, and as a matter of fact I bought it becuase of one of your comments I read in this forum. Since it has interchangeable connectors (rca/TRS) I love it. I also did some research on the web and I found that has excellent reviews, so since I am setting up my HTPC I want to get the best of the best. I will check up the MTU lite version of hoster.
Anthony, I will give it a try to see how it works the combination that you suggested, but let me ask you, for those MP3+G files (which in reality there is two physical files), do you get that problem that I reported on the'Unify Karaoke' software about the lyrics getting out of sync when you move the keychanger down?.

Thanks again guys!

I've never gotten the words out of  sync with music when changing keys.  I've even ran it on a 733Mhz PC with 128MB RAM, and still the words kept synced with the music.
