Is there a wireless microphone kit on the market that has an adapter that I can attach to my current microphone to make it wireless? I would think that there would be a market for such an item, after all if you want to go cordless with an electic guitar you don't have to buy a whole new guitar. So why not make something similar for microphones? |

I thought I had seen an ad for something like this before. However, you would need a receiver for the mic/transmitter, and I would thinki it might be more cost-effective to just purchase a complete wireless unit and keep the corded mic for a backup or KJ/DJ use. |

Yeah they do make the kit, it's just a transmitter plug that plugs into the mic with a receiver that hooks into the board. I THINK Samson made/makes them, haven't really heard anything about them otherwise. |

I've been pricing wireless mics and considering the decent ones start at over 200 bucks I thought this might be a less expensive way to go. Plus if the mic portion ever got trashed or I wanted to upgrade to a better mic then that would be the only part I needed. I think the advantages out way the disadvanages. |

No you really would be better off getting a separate wireless system. The UHF adapter I found is made by Azden - not Samson. It runs for $490 for the transmitter & receiver. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/control ... ype=search |

Samson makes the Airline 77 series that utilizes any brand of microphone. It's a UHF unit. |
