We subscribe to Time-Warner cable and had some new additions in the TV channel-line up. I was flipping through the channels and notice something called "The Karaoke Channel", which is just what it says! Has anyone seen this and how would this affect you KDJs?

Unlees you can call in and request a song
and it it appers in less that 15 minutes
and is pumped through a professional audio system
and can be restarted if the singers messes up
and they have a waiterss come to your table and bring you drinks

I doubt it will have ANY affect on my biz/crowds

Thanks...frankly, when I saw this channel appear I really could not figure out the real value of it, but I guess, if anything, it is helping to popularize karaoke and maybe in that since, might be of benefit to you guys.  Thanks.

If that channel could do the same thing for the Karaoke industry that American Chopper did for motorcycles, we'd all be rich.
But yeah I think it's cool. I would tend to think that it's probably geared towards the home user more than anything else. But on the plus side, if it gets folks re-energized about the fun of Karaoke, then I do think that's a good thing. We have something similar on Dish Network, but I've never really sat down and checked out out.

Karaoke in TV? We have it. There used to be a show that featured the original artist/singer singing his own song from a karaoke track. 3 phone-in listeners will then be invited to complete the song. the one with the best retention as judged by sms will get a prize.

The hosts of the show (KJ) are good, but that is just part of a bigger show.

There are several version of karaoke show over the FM radio, and is very popular. you need some luck to be connected to the station.
