There are predujices here aginst avatrs and a few posts ,,,,And nobody really knows anybody ,,.. What if the regulars posted a bio with a link to it in the sig or....
It would eliminate some of the predjudicses here and stimulate a more personable atmosphere But those that choose to remain anonymous could still post regularly...
There are those here that I have a bond with but it needs to go further than the superfulous goings on here... Ideas??

Honey like any real community bonding takes time. Sometimes the superficial things that attract you to someone hide deep and nasty flaws in a personality. Given time they will always become apparant.
To think that one person can be universally liked and respected by all is a very big ask. Culture, lifestyle, age, values all come into play. There are very few people that I can honestly say I have seen universally liked by all anywhere. The very very few I have been fortunate to meet I admire greatly.
For the rest of us it should be enough to enjoy the respect and friendship of a few and be content with that because to do otherwise and try to be something to everyone is spreading yourself too thin and trying to be something you are not.
To thine own self be true...this from one of the most polarizing person in cyber space

Karyoker- You are definately a thought provoker. To answer you seriously - I think you have wonderful ideas, but I believe the management would say that's what the newbie section is for. Now SS has a bio section in their profile. We could do that. But I don't think that will achieve what you are saying either. I think PMing is the best way to go about getting to know people on a more personal level.
Vicki - I think what you said was very eliquent. I have to agree you get to know people slowly over time. I have been on KS a year and have only PM'd with a hand full of people.
I think the best way to slowly learn people's personalities safely is through their posts. Anyone could write anything in a bio. I don't believe we'd have a way to find out if they were being honest or not, but at least through posts you can get a general idea.

Exactly. Show women you're interested in them Ollie. Ask them their weight. Ask questions such as measurements. Come out've your shell more and ask really personal questions. Break the ice ! JUst make certain you don't wait until they've belonged to the site longer than a day or so. By that point, it's usually too late to impact them with your insight into the opposite sex. It's first impressions that stick !
Let the women know you care ! They REALLY like it when you ask them highly personal questions right away !
Let them know you are out there !
Don't be self conscious either. Women are the same as men, just different !
Don't set up barriers. Talk like you would talk with Keith and myself.
Tell them about your stuck mouseball. Great way to bond !

actually I defy anyone to be able to use the pm system on here to get to know anyone well. PMs can sit for days without being picked up. I love coming here but if I feel I wish to get to know someone better I will ask if they have msn or yahoo so as I can at least know I am going to be able to type to them in real time.

"Well" ? Same can be said of any venue where you've never heard their voice tone or seen a persons actual expression. In fact

I was thinking, if I got rid of my Bronco and got a horse instead... moved out of my house and lived in a tent, I wouldn't need electric, phone, gasoline, none of that garbage..... just wireless internet on a laptop. I'd have to give up karaoke at home without electricity. But I have my guitar. Anyways, then I could just lose the dayjob, and be HERE all day. Good idea, huh? People at my new job just WONT flirt with me all day like some people here do. My self esteem is suffering from it. :( Quote: There are those here that I have a bond with but it needs to go further than the superfulous goings on here... Ideas??
Oh, I have some GREAT ideas of how to bond with strangers online Ollie. I can't, of course, tell them all here. But for starters, get an MSN account and a webcam first, if you don't have them. That would be step one. The *bonding* will quickly follow.

gotta agree with Charmin, web cam is quite a must have...and no not for da naughty stuff...so much can be miscontrued in type, its a lot harder to get the wrong end of the stick when you are looking someone in the face.
I wont bore you with the details of me and my very best online friend and how we hated each other for a long time until we could see each others face. How we got to that stage was a story in itself. Anyway he still types the same stupid stuff but because I can see his face when he is doing it, I know he is joking and when he can see my face he knows I know

Sure is. But that's what's nice about being behind a computer. You can't get anything at all when you're alone behind a computer. Personally, I always look people in the face for the EXACT reason you mention. I don't want ANY end of the stick :dancin: Which end do you consider the wrong end though ? This can be subjective.
