Hi everyone, God help me that I can say I'm from the illustrious home of the Gotti boys - Long Island, NY. I joined this board because I have been doing karaoke with a few different groups of friends for the past 12 years (wow that makes me feel old!). It seems like whenever we all decide to go out, we always end up at karaoke and even though "no one really wants to do it" we all end up singing and having a great time. So my point in joining this forum, besides the fact that I enjoy karaoke, is this.. since my friends and I have so much fun when we do karaoke, I'm going to try to set a night up as a fundraiser for a local charity. I was hoping for some advice from the pros! I have a general idea of what I'd like to do, but since this isn't the "Welcome and ask a question" section, I'll post my idea for critique & comments under a different heading. As far as my singing goes, if you're interested... I'm no rock star (by any means), but I like to sing Melissa Etheridge/Sass Jordan/Janis Joplin.
