I wish there was a way to tell who listens to your subs & how many times so SOME paranoid people dont go around accussing the people who are honestly listening & commenting as they feel.
Im not naming names but this happened to me last night .( someone accused me of listening more than I said I did just to mess with them ...I did not !!) I do like this site and enjoy everyone here but a select few love to start drama just to start it & its not fair to the people who are here for the sheer fun of this site.
Its starting to be such a vindictive environment that people are going to start leaving.Im not going anywhere Im not going to be bullied out b/c of someone who doesn't think Im "up to par" to be here. Its KARAOKE for Gods sake !!! Not a competition...not a talent scout hangout...Im just sick of all the drama !!  
Maybe you can help...???

As nice as it would be to know, it could never work Kelley.  :no:  You don't have to be a member to listen, so if someone wanted to be an idiot they could just log out and click the Listen button 800 times.  They would have to change the whole site and make it so that only members could listen for you to know for SURE where all your listens come from.

I don't know who accused you or why...but there will always be some drama on a site filled with creative and artistic types...we tend to be an emotional group(yes, I admit it...hehe).  Just hang in there girl

I get two to three times the amount of listens as I get comments.   It use to bother me because it made me feel that my singing must be so bad that it was not worth commenting on.   Then one day I realized that maybe some people just don't know what to say...But enjoy listening  

For someone to fuss at you because they think you listened to them too many times is just plain silly  LMAO

If I want to listen to someone a whole bunch then I just save there recording to my computer.....yes I know some people don't know how to do that, But I do  LMAO

Every now and then I might listen to a sub twice here on this site without saving it to my computer but thats because I want to hear it again because I enjoyed it, and maybe I didnt want to keep it because its not a song im too fond of....But did enjoy it enough to listen twice or three times.


People who worry about you listening too many times are people who worry about that stupid ranking number and they are afraid that too many listens from the same person causes that number to drop......& That is really sad that someone would care that much about some silly number.

As for me the rank numbers don't bother me because I know that I am a Big huge and I mean one really really Big Zero!!!!!!  LMAO  LMAO  LMAO

So if someone thinks Im more than a Zero then Im happy...But I can be happy being a Zero or a one or even a ten....

I have been told by others that they listen to me two to 20 times and only comment one time of coarse....and that they listen that many times because they simply enjoy listening.   Now that they have already commented then there is no need to keep commenting over and over....but just like listening to the Radio...they keep listening to me simply because they like it.  :D

Some people listen and never comment....thats just the way they are and if they listen and like it then fine...and if they don't like it then thats fine too  LMAO

I listen, but hardly comment on any songs.

When it comes to the numbers, it just isn't really valid or important.  Some people get a lot of listens and comments, some don't. Sometimes it's more of a popularity contest that isn't based that much on real talent (just like some pro pop singers out there ha,ha).  But everybody deserves the opportunity to have their voice heard here.

Hmmmm....I never really gave that sort of thing much thought before Kelley.
I didn't know that the more the same person listens to a critique song the ranking drops?
It's a good thing I don't care for the ranking system. I'd surely be a zero too.....just from how many times I've listened to my own stuff over and over again.  LOL
I know, that may sound strange to some, but it is that little part of everyone's psyche about my own worst critic that keeps bugging me.
That's how I ultimately realize that a sub I've made was total crap and needs to go away.

Now something I've really wondered about lately is.....why are a few regular just for fun singers now submitting as listen only???
Did I miss some more drama???  LOL

I think a few might be taking this singing thing way too serious.
Myself, I think I'm about finished trying because my enjoyment has now been reduced to a faint emotion.
I think I've done went emo, and it had nothing to do with anyone or anything here at KS.
It's just that I've probably created my own torture chamber by trying to impress with the singing, and now my illusion of happiness is slipping into a harsh reality of pain, so now I need to find a way out of this nightmare.  :shock:

Got a pm asking if the problem was someone getting worked up over the # of their sub comments compared to their listens....I wrote this back...Maybe you all might have the same question...Yes thats the problem...& when I "called" this person on a comment they left after I commented on their sub telling them I had listened twice b/c I got busy & couldnt comment at the time on the first listen... ( & I let EVERYONE know if I listen more than once just for that reason ! Look at my comments they will show you) ... on their reply back was "I know you did you listened quite a few times"...accusing me of pushing the listen button to make their listens much higher than normal...listen I dont do crap like that ! Its too much drama I have enough of that in my own life...When I wrote them it turned into a personal attack on my singing abilities so I returned the sentiment & asked to end it b/c I wasnt going to get drawn in by their drama so the witch hunt could be directed towards me now that BD is gone...Im not goin nowhere...I pay my fees for being here just like everyone else over there does...too bad !  They also tried to make it out like "I" was the one worried about the listen/comment ratio when I let them know that it was happening to me too ! UGGGH ~ I hate people to start drama JUST to start it !! So thats MY side of the story Im sure you'll hear the rest... Thanks for asking for my side of the story Im just sick of the witch hunts around here !!
Im NOT usually an EMO type over stuff like this but have seen the same thing happen to a few others who have since left the site...It just isnt right that one ...NEVERMIND Im just not gonna go there...Im JUST NOT !!

Okay Kids bear with me, I am new at this, my personal opinion is this, first let me say I currently have a song with 14 comments and 134 listens, so there I said it. I don't care who is playing the games.  Realistically, the only people who know about how many listens I have are myself and the person and/or persons hitting the button. It has never been an issue with me because it doesn't reflect badly on me. NOONE else knows!! Who cares?!!  However, if I whined about it constantly everyone would know, thus making it an issue.
    Kelley, darlin', sweetie, you know we love you here. I can't imagine anyone ever getting angry with you.  You are one of my most constant commentors, always so sweet and supportive. I know everyone would agree with me.  Kelley is one of the sweetest people here at SS.  I would take ten Kelleys to one of whoever they may be anyday.
     Don't let whoever it is get to you Kelley, you have our support. You will have mine, always.  This is a great place but, alas there will always be those who aren't complete without controversy. It was created to enjoy other's music, nothing more, nothing less.  I love all those who comment on my music, and know I am far from a singer but, I have fun. I love hearing others sing as well, so many talented and passionate singers I have the pleasure to hear. Its fun and anyone making it that difficult or complicated should reconsider being here at all.  Personal attacks and accusations are not welcome or warranted.

the ranking system is funny as hell. Some are so petty (well really only a couple) who change their ranking not according to how they feel about the song but how they feel about the singer.

But then the ranking I treat as a bit of a lark and refuse to change to J or L. So hit me with a 5 or a 6 it just makes me smile all the more cos this place is fun its meant to be fun, not to be taken seriously.

Ya know I did want to add that I REALLY DID respect this persons opinion about my subs b/c I think they are very talented & asked them one time if I had offended them or something b/c they were not commenting on my subs...not b/c Im a comment hoe but b/c I really did repect & value their opinion, they said it put too much pressure on them by me asking that !! PFFT...Whatever !! I just wanted to make sure I didnt offend them or anything ya know. Some people let things bottle up & talk amonst others who will buy into their rediculous whims of whining before they actually go to the person who offended them & say anything so I wanted to avoid that !

I will keep subbing AND enjoying this site for what it is FUN !! Thanks to all who listen & comment along with me

Kelley the over-sensitives are not worthy of worry. it is NOT artistic temperament, it is the lack of a clip round the ears and the toe of a boot up the bum when they were small to encourage them to get over themselves
