Post subject: | Need help to set up a Karaoke system |
Here is a list of equipments I have: 1. Cavs 203 DVD player; 2. Vocopro DA X10 Mixer; 3. Samson stereo compressor; 4. BBE 482i Maximizer; 5. QSC 1080 Amp; 6. Pair JBL EON 15"; 7. Vocopro UHF-388 mics. At first, I only bought a DVD player, a Mixer; an amp; pair of speaker and mics. Then, later I bought a Maximizer and a compressor. After spent hours read manuals and post in this forum, I'm still not have a slice idea how to integrate the maximizer and the compressor into the system. I also bought 2 of insert cables, without knowing that the Vocopro DA X10 doesn't has insert points like other mixers. Any help and/or advice is appreciated |

Maximizer will go between your mixer & amp - mixer into BBE, BBE out into amp. Compressor I answered in the other thread. Not knowing the model compressor- Samson makes more than 1, it would need to have XLR ins/outs to work. Hook the mix into the compressor & the compressor outs into the mixer. Now doing this way won't work as well as if you had a good mixer with inserts. Which model amp? I haven't heard of a 1080 model from QSC? |

Thanks Lon...You'r always have answer...Great... The Samson compressor is a S.com Stereo Compressor, 2 channels compressor. Yes, it has XLR ins/outs. However, As I said in the last post, The Vocopro DA X-10 mixer has no insert inputs. Here is the link http://www.vocopro.com/frm_product.html Thanks.. |

Alright, i'm assuming you mean the JBL EON 1500 (non-powered) the EON 15 is the powered version. Nice amp, SLIGHTLY underpowered for those speakers, they want about 450 watts per speaker into 8 ohms, the amp only pushes 360 watts per channel into 8 ohms. Not a great difference & you probably won't have any problem. The Samson compressor you must mean the C-Com. Again, with the XLR, it will work, just not as good as it should with a mixer with inserts. Run the mic into the input on the compressor & the output of the compressor to the mixer channel input. |

Great...Again thanks ... Connect outputs of the mic's receiver (XLR) to the compressor XLR inputs; Then the compressor XLR outs to the mixer's inputs. However, the Vocopro DA X-10 mixer doesn't has XLR inputs or outputs. All its inputs and outputs on the rear are RCA type connectors. The only 2 outputs are for recorder and pre-amp and inputs are for tape, DVD or ... The mic inputs are on the front and they are 1/4" mono jack (T,S). Is there a reason for them to work only with XLR inputs and outputs ? |

Any recommendation for a new mixer ? I just spent little over $300 for it. Vocopro said it's a best mixer of Vocopro. Well the more I learned the more I like to go with the expert's advice. Thanks for your help |

I swear by my Yamaha 16/6FX.....I promise you this mixer is twice as good as the VocoPro unit. Alot of peeps on here are partial to Makie mixers. You can't go wrong with either one, but I perfer the Yamaha. |

I love and use the Yamaha EMX68s. It is a wonderful mixer...been using it for almost 5 years and nothing EVER goes wrong it! I'm using a pair of Yamaha S115IVS's and they are the same age and sound perfect! I've heard Mackie equipment and I'd put Yamaha up against it any day. |
