So you go out and maybe your throat is a little sore or your sinuses are acting up.. Or for the ladies maybe your just bloated. What is that one song that you know you can sing everytime without fail and it is good. |

There are two conditions that I sometimes suffer from.. One is when the ears are plugged up and with a pop you can hear troulble is they wont pop.. In that case Im hugging the stage monitor or singing in front of the mains.. Or I will sing something Ive sang hundreds of times. The other is when there is 40 frogs in my throat and can hardly talk Then Ill do something like Diamonds Holly Holy with alot of gravel... in a couple of songs Im back to normal usually. Some nights Im not totally with my full range.. And it gets worse with age. When im normal I can range from Tubb to cry by johnny Raye and nail both in my style.. If its real bad and Im in a place with a bare system and no help I wont sing... |

I hear ya...When I go to a new place I always start with a song I know very well so I know it won't be messed up. But I tend to stay with slow country songs where I don't have to strain much. |

Volcano by Buffet or Wild Wild West by the Escape Club- two songs I swear I could do on my deathbed that always get a crowd moving. |

I don't think there is any song that's always "good" when my throat isn't in singing condition. It's easier just to find a song that doesn't have to be sung well. Something like "Tubthumping" or "Give It Away," or maybe (I know I'll catch hell for this) a rap song like "Bust A Move." |

I really had to think for a minute on this one. I'd say Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar. For some reason that song always pulls through for me. |

Mine is "Big, Bad, John". No matter what I can nail it I just pray the KJ has it in the book. |

Hmmm, I really had to think about this one too because it varies from mood to mood or from new songs I think I do well at the time. I guess I'd have to say "It's To Late" by Carol King. The 8 track of the Tapestry album was passed down to me and I played that sucker and sang along until the 8 track player no longer worked.... (Rats! There I go, carbon dating myself again...) Susie |

I don't have one of those. :( Of course, there are some that are easier to get out when I have cold issues going on. Like MJK said, probably my more up-beat, mid-range songs. Can't hit my low notes OR my high ones. Gimme a couple drinks though, and my mind over rules my voice every time..... and I'll sing whatever. Okay, if I have to name a song..... maybe..... hell, I still don't know. I don't have a song- period- that I could honestly say I think I sing "without fail". There's always something to bytch about when I'm done:) Quote: Or for the ladies maybe your just bloated.
Oh, now, when I'm bloated & bytchy.... those days, I sing all my *man hating* songs:) (I have a whole list of those...Kerosene, Blame It On Your Heart, Any Man of Mine, One Bud Wiser, My Give a Da'mn's Busted- that one does wonders for cramps & bloating, Lmao)... . |

I don't really have a standard. I can either feel good enough to sing, or I can't. I hate bombing out when I know I should've never tried. LOL |
