I think that I might know quite a few singers on this site as I have seen some names that I know while I was browsing though. I am from Northern California and I just plain love to sing. I live in and grew up in a small country setting of mostly farming operations and ranches in Colusa County, California. It is still for the most part the same but growth is headed our way and someday things will change. For now you can still go for a drive and enjoy the scenery and wildlife without being run over by everyone behind you. Our county is quite large ranging from valley flat land in being a part of the West Coast Range Mountains. The population of our entire County would not be more then what is considered a moderate city. There are only five cities which I would really call them towns and a few that are so small, I would call them little communities. The worlds smallest Mountain range is to the east of our county, called the Buttes Mountain Range. It is said to be a small upheaval or volcano and their is lava rock all over the mountain. Fishing is one of the main attactions to the county. The Scaramento River runs though the county. Most people would probably freak out but some winters, the entire valley goes under water and up and into portions of the towns. We are locked in at times by the water but everyone here considers this the norm. I guess I should talk a little about singing. I have been singing for years but at public performances for only the last three. I do fund raisers, sing at the county fair, the local casino, the Old Tyme Christmas Show for the County and any open mic I can find. I have just started a little solo singing business in the last month. I have only started recording my music in August and I really don't do anything but adjust the volume of my vocals and maybe add just a little reverb. I use a computer, mic and Audacity with Sound Choice or Chart Busters karaoke cds. I am not at anyway knowledgable at recording, I just sing it. I find it very hard to sing to a computer. You just can't get into it as you do singing for public or just for yourself. I guess that just comes with time and so do the effects, if you choose to use them. For now, I'm just going to upload some songs that I have recorded while learning just make and mp3 and the effects will come as I learn the process. I hope that I can be a big part of this forum and make many new singing Friends.
