Sure, it's our livelyhoods and our hobby's we're talking about. They stop making karaoke tracks, this thing we love will fade into nothing... I REFUSE to lay down and die, and what I've got $50,000 invested in, and 11 years invested in, AIN'T goin' NOWHERE! Not if I can help in any way. Mosty, the public needs to be educated that what they think isn't hurting anybody... is. That they're hurting the very thing they love. YOu want something? PAY for it! Sheesh! |

To translate from the "brite shiny thang" generation.... Why do legitimate KJs, that actually spend money on their legal library, worry about KJs that use illegal music, and spend no money on their music? |

I am so impressed you are able to translate that :O . I read it several times and was lost. To answer the question: If someone is doing something illegal to better their business and it hurts your business, you would be concerned too. |

Jeez hope you have cast iron knickers on and have taken adequate steps to ward against radio activity cos the fallout caused by that statement could well be fatal |

Well around here the bootleggers (and in many other areas that I talk with as well) are also the undercutters spending $400 for a illegal drive loaded with 50-100K songs. They are putting several of the 'legit' companies out of business with crappier equipment & no skills. I already know several good companies up here that can't get club work anymore & it's not because they weren't good, but their 8-11K selection pails in comparison to the 50-100K selection. I finally sold my mobile systems because I couldn't get any work for them at a price worth taking them out - why would they pay my price for great sound but a tiny selection when they can pay 1/3 to 1/2 for a huge selection. As far as manufacturers not making music - it's already happening. A couple compaines have already folded, a couple more have already dropped certain lines & even Sound Choice has slowed down production from releasing several NEW discs per month of various genres & even some off the wall requests to 2-3 discs per month with maybe some newer stuff. |

And how much does a DVD cost now? Ever priced MICROSOFT OFFICE? Go to the local sporting goods shop and check the prices of a NFL shirt lately? Besides severl karaoke disc mfgs going out of business, piracy only increases the proce of discs. DO ya think walmart eats the price of what gets shoplifted evey day? NO, the cost of thoes goods get passed on to the customer that actually PAYS for the merchandise. |
