My six year old likes to sing along to Disney Songs. I saw that the Disney Karaoke machines use the CD-G format. I have no idea what components are good. I would like something that doubles as a DVD player and doesn't take up a lot of space in the house. I would like something that a 6 year old would be able to use on her own and to connect it to the TV. Obviously, I don't what to spend a fortune. Since I don't know if my kid would use it. I have bought many things that she doesn't use. I saw this in the store but I don't know if this brand is good: http://www.karaokedepot.com/product.asp?pid=271 CAVS DVD203G BL The salesman at a store recommended the Panasonic but that would be $500 for a system with the microphone. What is a reasonable price to spend for my child? What are some good brands? If you have alternative models, I would appreciate it. I am buying a system in the next 3 days. Thanks in advance. |

I was in the market for a DVD player that also does karaoke that was not a stand alone system. Any recommendations on brands? |

Go to any Best Buy or Target or Circuit City and they will have karaoke machines that would be just fine for a kid and will last for many years of enjoyment. 50-150$ depending on features and size. Get her a really good SINGLE SPEAKER to go with it and she could go in and STEAL BIG DOG's GIG OUT FROM UNDER HIM!! LMAO LMAO LMAO |

I had it down to RSQ and VocoPro. Based upon the availability of repair centers listed through Vocopro and that they were based out of the US and was established in 1991, I ended up getting the VocoPro. My conclusions were confirmed when I asked the salesperson which one had a better track record with their store. I ended up with the DVX-880 Pro which retails for $300. I bought her a Vocopro microphone and 8 CD-G discs. She ought to be set for a couple of months. |

If I had to ship it somewhere remote, as opposed to a local area, in the event of a malfunction, it would be incovenient. I always look at the company website and check out their discussion boards, the BBB, the warranty policy and their method of dealing with problems. I would rather avoid being dealt a raw deal. |
