WOW and if those bargains weren't enough to make you pee your pants, they have the Sweet Georgia Brown set for 179.99, twice the price of anyone else still stuck with this series. I'm sure the phone lines are busy with folks trying to get through for these killer deals. I wonder if they do custom disc, all I want are the kids songs, they can keep the rest. |

MIB, wait until you do some kid parties. I did a few for our union Christmas party 12 and under. One kid hears Frosty, 12 more want to sing it. Then you go to the next song and 20 more kids want to sing that song. 6 Christmas songs can cover the whole party. And the kids can't read that young so they look at the pictures and guess the words. Unless Mom or Dad helps them. Yeah right. It was usually me or the ex, singing. These parties were 5 hours long. I have bald spots from pulling out my hair. Be careful what you wish for. :O |

I already have a disc of nothing but kids songs, which gets used almost every week, except it's me that's having to do most of the singing. The kids either stand there and stare at me or play with the mic cord most of the time. I did have one hot momma come up to me afterwards though and ask me if I babysat. I said sure, what time does dad and the kid leave?.... |

You haven't heard the Slipknot version of Georgie Porgie? Or System of a Down does Frere Jacques? AudioSlave as The Muffin Man? Velvet Revolver's Little Jack Horner? And my favorite of all, GodSmack's version of What a Friend I Have in Jesus. That is Rock's Cutting Edge!!! I'll give you an even better stat for this Web site....they sell individual BackStage discs for $8.99 each!! You can get this whole set on EBay for $30.00, and they aren't even worth that. I would say STAY AWAY from dbKaraoke.com!! |

About a year ago, I tried to get my son (now 8 1/2) to sing with me at a place that had all-ages karaoke (it was supposed to start at 9 pm on a weeknight, which is a bad time for an all-ages event anyway IMHO). Jonathan and I were going to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". First of all, they got started late (Jonathan said "I wanna sing!" several times before they started), then the kj started things off by singing TWO songs (as if things weren't running late enough already)...then by the time it was our turn to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", Jonathan didn't want to sing! I wound up singing the whole song by myself while he just kinda danced around in circles up there! Then he wanted to leave, so we wound up not singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". But of course, when we got in the car to leave--THEN he wanted to sing! *sigh* Kids... Then again, I wasn't thrilled about singing in public at his age either. I know all about kids playing with the mic cord too--sometimes when the kids sing in church, some of them will do that! However, the last time they sang (a few weeks ago), even though there were only 4 of 'em, they ALL sang and did a great job! |

But let's take it one step further: Marilyn Manson: Jesus Loves Me w/ Angels We Have Heard on High, Away In A Manger, What Child Is This medley Type O Negative w/ special guest Black Sabbath: Little Drummer Boy Cradle of Filth: O Little Town of Bethlehem King Diamond/Mercyful Fate: Silent Night/O Holy Night (Now if you've ever heard King Diamonds 'No Presents for Christmas' you already know what a treat it would be.) Slayer: Twelve Days of Christmas Motorhead: Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer G.G. Allen: All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth With Bonus Track: Green Day: Jingle Bells Note: you would have had to heard these bands to know the irony and sarcasm in which my selections were made. So please take no offense it was all done in fun. I find this no more offensive than Walmarts decision to put out Christmas decorations the same time they did Halloween. Oh but then my deepest apologies, we're not suppose to even mention Christmas, because it has you know who's name in it. (Sorry that's another rant for another time, my bad) What was the question again..., yes most definitely someone at DBKaraoke was asleep at the wheel when they came up with those disc, but keep in mind, they are listed as 'Family Fun'. (Now if you've ever heard King Diamonds 'No Presents for Christmas' you already know what a treat it would be.) , I didn't think anyone else on here even heard of King Diamond/Merciful Fate! Have several of their discs, don't listen to them much anymore - but still have them. |

Have several of their discs, don't listen to them much anymore - but still have them. Yeah, King and I use to be friends for years, I have a great collection of promotional items from several tours. But as the years have gone by, I've given away most of my cd's of the bands unless they were signed. Just not really the kind of music that I listen to anymore. I mean I still love the music, just not to keen on the lyrics and stuff. But ironically all the years that I knew King, never once did the subject of religion come up, which was cool, because that showed a great amount of respect on his part towards my personal beliefs. Also being from Tennessee had it's own personal interest to him because many of his solo albums had songs relating to the Bell Witch incident. James |

Maybe they markup their crap brand discs, but I never buy those anyway. Their prices on the good labels are quite reasonable and are frequently on sale, their shipping price is reasonable, and they've always shipped my orders the day after I placed the order. I THink once they even shipped it the same day since I had placed the order early enough. And their service is great. Once I emailed them to ask about a specific disc that they didn't have listed on the site. They said that they weren't sure why they hadn't received it yet and weren't sure when it would be in stock. I figured that was that and I'd just keep checking the site, but a couple of weeks later I got an email telling me that they had just gotten the disc in stock that day and that it would be available on the site within a few hours. And I'm pretty sure they added it to the site immediately just so I could order it, because that day it was the only new disc added, but a couple of days later there were more new discs added, including the other disc that was released at the same time (Sunfly puts out 2 discs per month, they ususally show up on the site on the same day). So no, I'm not gonna abandon this site just because their Backstage discs are overpriced  |
