I would like to get some feed back on your preference for a mixer.Im looking at both a vocopro 7800 or a numark 200fx. It will be used mostly for karaoke shows

I would honestly stay away from either & go with a Mackie or Yamaha professional mixer - there are plenty to choose from that will meet most demands. Anything that is designed for karaoke, is generally overpriced, lacking features & not the greatest sounding!

Yes Yamaha and Mackie are good mixers, but expensive. For an alternatvive, check out Behringer, which are priced lower. Many say that Behringer makes crap, but I have 2 of them, one is 2 & 1/2 years old and have never had a problem.

Bheringer is the budget alternative---But my choice would be the new yamaha 1000w flatboard mixer/effects amp.

I've had a behrenger go T.U. on me... so I bought the Mackie. More reliable company n my honest opinion.

I had one Behringer mixer release it's magic smoke.....I bought another and it is still going strong.
I like Behringer cause they offer all the bells and whistles at a very cheap price yet they sound as good as the higher priced spread.....I can afford to toss one or two and still come out ahead $$-wise.
You will discover that Mackie and Yahama too have moved production of their small mixers to China and all of them suffer from reliability issues but they are getting better...So is Behringer in that reqard.
Whatever you buy, look for FEATURES first......Please research the really nice to have little things like channel inserts, mutes, metering, FX, switching, extra outs, and all the things you will soon need when you expand your system.

I have a Yamaha MG16/6FX. It has everything you need in a mixer plus plenty of channel inserts and a really good FX section for vocals. Mine sounds as good as new after 2 years of hard use 12 hours a week.

Most mixers are built in China these days anyways incleding Berhinger and Mackie and I would imagine the share many of the same components, just like T.V.s, VCRs, etc.

Some electronic makers/designers who use China to manufacture their propritary equipment have been ripped off....China makers stole their designs and sold them to other folks........Those things happen in overseas markets.......

And the disc in your HDD, inside most PC are likely to come from my place. Those discs cost less than 50cent each to make.

My vote goes to Mackie, having bought a used CFX12 off of ebay for only $220. This particular mixer was made in USA. Kudos to Lonnie for recommending this mixer to me. It cured most of my sound woes.

Stay away from the Vocopro - I am one that has actually bought one a few years ago and although listed all the features you could ever want for karaoke , The QUALITY is IMHO very sub- par. (Not to mention OVERPRICED).
My suggestion would be a the Behringer 1222FX - Plenty of inputs, ON board EFX, surround feature , On board EQ with Feedback detection. And ist RACKMOUNTABLE all for about $180-$190. I have been using one for about a year and have not had any problems.

The 1222FXPro is a very decent mixer. I have one and I love it. I paid 149 at musiciansfriend for it, and i wish i had bought 2 of them.

thanks for the help I went with the Yamaha MG 16/6 FX got a good deal locally 299.00. Now all I have to do is figure out what is the best imput to use for my deck

I'm sorry but the pots and faders on anything Behringer are not even close to the the componets used on a Mackie or Yamaha.
Slide a fader and twist a knob on the 2 in the store and you feel an instand difference.
