Hello everyone. My name is Jen. I'm a singer/actress/audition and voice coach from the NYC area. It's great to see so many music lovers and singers here. I'm enjoying listening to your recordings and reading all the supportive comments. I'm going to get my sister to join up here as well. She'd love this, too. This forum is the greatest thing EVER!!! I can't believe there are so many great singers out there, and I love hearing the types of stuff people record. I'm thinking of posting a showtune today. I have a mic and software to record but probably some of the stuff I already recorded is better quality, so I'll start with those and add new ones later, I think. I'm very picky about acoustics, and though my equipment is okay, the ambient sound is atrocious- I live on the same street as the firehouse, so it seems like just when I get a good track, somebody's house catches on fire or something. Maybe it's my combustible vocals... ha ha. It's a hard feeling to wrestle with- being pissed at someone whose house is burning down. I'm like, "C'mon- couldn't you check the oven?!? I'm RECORDING in here!!!" Also, I'm in an apartment with a neighbor downstairs who is hard of hearing. Nice guy, plus sometimes I don't actually have to turn on my own TV to hear the weather report because it bleeds through my floor. |

You'll love it here.Every genre of music is submitted with fine performances.What I like here at SS is the creativity from most singers and their willingness to take on challenges. |
