Going to be swapping out for a new one, has anyone used the TAPCO Blend 16?  Looks like a perfect board for my needs & pretty reasonable costwise, also includes USB interface.  Just wondering the quality of it?

I can't comment directly on the mixer, but the USB input concerns me.  As many mfgrs come out with mixers that have a USB input for audio it make me wonder just how good the D/A conversion is.  Basicaly it is a sound card built in to the mixer.

Who makes these sound cards?
Are thay any good?

Perhaps it may be better to save the $$$ and not get a mixer with USB input, and just get yourself a pro level sound card, at least then you know hwat you are getting.

Just some food for though.

It's actually a subdivision of Mackie.  I played with a smaller version & it sounded pretty nice - actually, I always forget about them as they just came back in the last couple years or so.  The mixers (at least the Blend 6 I used) are comparable to Mackies 'pre' VLZ-Pro line which was good to begin with - understandably so as Mackie makes the pre's for TAPCO (btw Mackies original name before EV bought it out).  They resurected the name to make PA equipment for the average Joe - mixers, amps, some processing, studio monitors.  Comparible in price to Behringer but still better sounding IMO.
