Post subject:  Can't make it to Pflugerville, TX but will be in Dallas/Ft. Worth 11/3/06
[font=Comic Sans MS]We can't make it to Pflugerville, TX, heck I can't even say it....  We will be in Dallas/Ft. Worth on Friday November 3rd though.  My sis is getting married 11/4/06 and has set us up with a room at the place on Saturday but we want to head down there on Friday and maybe meet up for karaoke with some of you..  

Please let us know a good place to go on Friday and, if possible, info on hotels in that area (we might not want a very long drive or, errrrrrr, taxi ride) so we can make our reservation.

Hi Susie. Great to hear the news.

I don't know where to stay just yet but I'm sure some suggestions will be forthcoming.

Susie,

Dallas is really big.  Can you PM me where the wedding will be and where your accomodations are?  Then we can all get together and figure out a place that is close for you, so you don't get lost or have to drive very far.  I would love to get together and sing with you and so would Phatrat.  I can probably find a few more that would be willing to come out for a meet and sing...

We are staying in Grapevine on Saturday but can stay anywhere in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area on Friday.  We would love to meet with as many of you as possible and are comfortable with going to one of your favorite places...  

If you have a favorite Friday night spot let us know and if you know of hotels in that area we will book a room there on Friday night..

We are really looking forward to meeting you!

Hi guy!  Yes, the timing is realllllly off!  LOL

Our KJ Amy will work the store on Saturday and, more than likely, the Store Club on Saturday night.  She and her husband do a different show for us on Saturday night but they usually split up and she covers the Store Club for us when we need her to.  If not Amy then Jennifer will probably do the Store Club.  You may have either met or heard Jennifer when you were here the last time...

We really need to work on timing!

Susie, there is a hotel in Hurst or Bedford (neighboring cities with ambiguous borders) that has a pretty good karaoke show in the bar.

The spot we usually go to though is farther away from Grapevine.

How far from Grapevine?  We really don't care where we stay on Friday night (unless it's a cow & a calf away from Grapevine  LOL ya'll) if it's a place where more of you are likely to be...  I do like the idea of only having to negotiate an elevator tho!

That show is a pretty good one. It's not typical of what we usually get in this area.


We usually go to a place in Grand Prairie.

I went to the usual place on Friday night last week (Grand Prairie) and the KJ has gotten a lot better...  I would suggest any hotel on Watson Road or Hwy 360 in Arlington.  And then we can go to Mary's that Friday Night.  

Steve, they have torn down the LaQuinta we stayed at and opened up a new tower in the back.  I heard it is really nice.  I'm not sure how much it is though.  Last time it was like 125.00 a night.  Kinda pricey for a LaQuinta.  There is a Crown Plaza in Arlington that is all suites and ussually runs around 89.00 a night.  

And Grapevine is only about 15 to 20 miles from Grand Prairie.

I wondered if a 'cow and a calf' away would strike any chords!!  LOL - It's actually a saying I got from Richard (he was born and raised in KS) though.  I also did underwriting for policies in the state of Texas and we were told to match the tempo and cadence of our customers, I did that for 6 or so years so I can sound about as Texan as anyone if I want to! ;)  I hope you can make it!

Thanks for the additional info!  I just went to the website for the karaoke place and it sounds great!  I emailed a link to this forum to Richard so he can get us a room!  I am sooo looking forward to this, it sounds as if we need to have our dtr-in-law work the store on Friday afternoon so we can drive down and rest up for the evening!  (I'm not to hip on the video tho, I don't care for how I sound or photograph... I may have to bring a 10 gallon hat with me and wear it looooow!)

Great!!! I'll round up all the local KS'er and get them there that night.  They don't really do the video too much or the recording either.  But they can if you want too!!  I'll probably call you on that Friday to touch base with you!!!  We are gonna have a bunch o fun.   :dancin:

It's as close as anything else.  Cool. Maybe The Austin people will stay at the same place. Did you get a good rate?  Sometimes they change when you call direct.  I got the rates on the internet.   See you all soon!!!

Thanks Susie!!!  We are packing for our trip in the morning..We are excited!!!  I'm going to round up as many KS people as I can for you to meet in the area.  I've gotten great responses from everyone so far.  It will be a very good turnout....

I am excited about next weekend!!  I just talked with my sister and it's a blast going over the details of her wedding....

Anyway, I need to have 3 more chairs added to our table.  It looks as if one of my dads and his wife will come (for a short time anyway) and the other dad may make it as well!!  I will pm you Isis just in case you don't see the post..

I hope to see a large group of KS people there so I can finally put some faces - and voices - to the text!!
