Lonman,

Would you say that your MySpace page is effective as advertising for your karaoke shows. Maybe not advertising, per se, but more like keeping your regulars involved and more active?

I was thinking about going the MySpace route but want to go beyond what you have done - like posting new song lists, videos of regulars singing, updating pictures weekly, etc.

I know that one of the main things my regulars seem to want is the sense of community and almost family that they have with me and each other, and I see a good MySpace page as being a great way to further that sentiment.

Have you ever gone that far and just didn't keep it up? I see you use it as more of a social board right now...

Let me know your experience and if anyone else is trying to incorporate MySpace into their business, let me know what you're up to as well!!!

THX!!

Well right now it's used more for social board, but most of my 'friends' on it are people that hang out at the club I play anyway.  So when I make announcements, I do use the board there so everyone will see it.
I know others utilize it more for things like you said with the video clips & Pics & I may go there as well.  Just another way to advertise like any good business should do! I work the search engines - although I have fell off a bit due to lack of time, used to be in the top 10 on most for tacoma karaoke.  Have my websites which gets used alot, had new people in this weekend had all their slips already pre-printed from my site.  Also utilize any karaoke forum that has a 'where to sing' for those looking.

I use it to inform singers what is going on, I need to spend more time on but it does work.

We use it for upcoming shows & to let everyone know where we'll be & also we take pics of our shows & events & post them both on our website & myspace. We have a link to myspace thru our website to make it easier.
We keep our "regular crowd" abreast of everything were doing although its not much regular karaoke right now but mostly the studio at fairs & festivals. & a few parties in between.
So overall I like it & think that its kool to advertise like that especially for free.
