I was posting a reply to Morgan's thread on the Dixie Chicks and it vanished.
I can't figure out what happened. There wasn't anything in it bad I could see. Or am I being blonde and it is still here somewhere?

Babs I can't figure out why it disappeared either.  The forum rules don't mention anything about political discussion.  And it was even posted in the discussion forum!

That's funny, I had started a thread in the singers forum concerning a singer I was impressed with, it's gone too.....maybe there's a new sheriff in town......Admin had looked at it twice, and it was up for about a week, then poof....gone....makes me wonder.......

I was around at the time...someone was using their privilege of free speech a bit too freely (i.e., @($*#%*#!!)--one of those deals...it was a fun, heated conversation and I'm sorry they took it off too.

so does this mean that the Admin are subsidised by the Bush administration?

One of the topics was RESPECT which is what I showed for the rules yet the same courtesy wasnt afforded me by admin...go figure...guess they have just lost mine

Your Bartolli thread was really interesting I am no opera fan but was sooo impressed with her control that I went thru all the vids of her singing.
Perhaps admin might like to adopt a courtesy pm to let someone know their thread is being pulled. It's quite good PR...but then IF admin are just there for the feeling of power I doubt PR will concern

Hi all....I had started a thread about Cecilia Bartoli on the singer's forum cuz I got an email telling me there was a reply to Nathan's thread.  But when I went to look for it, yeah it was gone.  Far as I know, nothing out of the ordinary happened there.  We were having a normal conversation about an opera singer.  Could it be they don't want us to link to youtube??

We are only supposed to have fun around here!  So everybody start smiling and that's an order!     Seriously now, I don't know no what happened for sure.  Unfortunately, if one person posts something that is too far out of line due to obscene language, slander, racist talk, things along that line -- instead of just removing that person's post they remove the entire thread.  At least that's what i've observed.

Maybe someone was offended, but I didn't get that feeling from reading
posts. I read all the posts I thought before it got yanked. Sometimes things
happen on accident too. Phil is pretty cool and lets a lot fly by. Morgan i would not take it personal at all. I like the idea of notification when it happens. Other wise  how are we to know what we did wrong as to not do it again?

I find it kind of amusing that admin have the time and to coin a line from Janis Ian "dubious integrity" to pull a thread yet no time at all to explain their actions.
