You and I as KJs hold in our hands, the worlds most powerful form of entertainment.

No movie, TV show, radio show, entertainer or band can entertain all age groups and musical tastes at once.    Consistantly night after night and week after week.
You cannot name one that has done so for the past 18 years of karaokes popularity.

9-90 years of age.     All participate and all respect each other as persons and at any talent level.

I should say Karaoke done correctly, has the power.

To all of my many, many, many, singers, friends and fellow KJs, I salute you.    You have remainded loyal to me and I will remain loyal to you.   I thank you.    I know what it takes to run a totally successful pure karake show.      I will continue to do so, no matter what.     I have not and will not cave in to the imaginary pressures exerted by the nonsingers.      I entertain them all equally without resorting to interupting your fun, with dance music.       It would behove all involved to hone your craft.   Get back to basic karaoke to entertain everyone.    Do not shun your karaoke following.   They made you.

I have mastered my craft.    You do not believe I exist, because you have not met someone that is as masterful as myself.    By your very own words, you admit you have not attained my level.   I do not expect you to understand or believe in something you can not and have not done.    It takes much skill, passion and dedication.    I have seen little here that have exhibited what it takes.     You have also made visable that you are not willing to do or do not understand what you need to do to get there.     This is not a weakness on my part.      Karaoke singers are they same over the entire world.    They want to sing as much as possible.   Anything less is taking away their fun.      There is only one reason a singer goes to karaoke.      That reason is not dance music.

I exist only to pure karaoke enthusiasts.    To all others I am a threat to your existance.   My existance hurts what your are trying to justify.     I would ignore me and pretend I don't exist, if I didn't want to do or have what I do.   Keep your head in the sand.   I ran past you years ago.   If you listen closely, you can still hear the wind of the ghost of pure karaoke.     LMAO    It turned in to a halloween story,  :O  but it's all trueoooooooooo.   Ha ha ha ha haaaaaa

That's a relief. I was sure that I did it more often than anyone I ever knew.

The power is in the music and the singer provides the energy to the crowd then it is returned. These three guys and me singing Dayo turned the prime minister of Greece into a bare foot partying drunk dancing in the sand..  I have sang in bars for 50 years never did charge anything altho I did get some free drinks :) The singers make or break any show and I can compensate for any system bad or good or I can sing with a single fiddle player... I should say we to put charmin in this category tooo LMAO

Something is definitely smelling.  And it has a dog's aroma.

It seems to me that you are so busy tooting your own horn, that you are the one with your head in the sand. Your approach when addressing us automatically puts us on the defensive. I also believe that you don't understand our culture very well. Yes, everyone who loves to sing, likes to do it as often as possible, but we also like to enjoy other forms of entertainment. And most of us KJs won't play regular music while we have a stack of slips from singers who want to sing. I love to sing, but I also think it can be egotistical for a KJ to sing a song "to keep it karaoke" during a short lull as opposed to playing a line dance song or such, if that is something that everyone, including the singers would enjoy participating in.

Another point to consider is that alot of singers will also come to the show with a friend, spouse, whatever, who doesn't sing, but the singers appreciate something that makes their companions feel included and welcome. If, as a singer, my husband went to the bar with me, and the only thing he could do is sit and listen to me, then after a few nights, he would be so bored that he wouldn't want to go to that place anymore, therefore as a couple we would go somewhere else where he could participate in something as well.

Anyway, just some points to consider.....

Keith, you are talking about the only true sport.   Bikini contests.

Thank you.   G.    I forgot to mention the spouses.    Most of the time the singers are singing something the spouse wants to hear or the singer is singing directly to the spouse.     That means the majority of them don't want to have their time wasted with dance music.   Most of the time it's a love song.     Some sing and slow dance at the same time.

Learn how to control and command the worlds most powerful form of entertainmment.

I had a full house again tonight.   Not one request for dance music.    I'm lucky if I get asked that question once a month.    That's once in 20-some shows.     When the karaoke music is nonstop, there is never time for it.    Also when the karaoke is nonstop, nobody thinks about requesting dance music.   Works hand in hand.     Nonstop karaoke has the power to make them forget about asking for something that isn't necessary.    But also there were many very good singers tonight.   Even the good singers were impressed with the good singers.     The worlds best kararoke system wields that power.      Combining the two, is super powerful.     One must be very masterful to handle both at once.

The power of karaoke is not for the weak.    It must be mastered carefully.    With tremendous dedication, artistry and skill.     Used wisely.     And respected for what it is.      Abusing the power of karaoke with dance music, is inconscionable.

Pure karaoke is an art form.    To do it right one must possess artistic ability.      Not just the ability to slap in a disc.      Working the crowd.    Reading the crowd.     Watching how they drink their drinks and watching the looks on the faces.    Reading the body language.     Judging the over all age group.     Listening to them talk to others.      Reading lips.     Watching reactions to songs and certain singers.

I'll slow down so you can catch up.

Knowing when certain singers get on peoples nevers, if they suck.       Yes some do.    See if they wait for the good singers to sing again.    See if they dance and sing along to songs.   Which songs.    What tempo.     See which couples like to dance during slow songs.     Watch the fast dancers.

After all of this I can see why so many just want to play dance music and take it easy.      All of the above is hard work.    Some of you don't know what I'm talking about.      Reading a crowd doesn't just mean to see if they dance, when you play dance music.   I'm wiped out from talking about all the work.    LMAO

frankly I personally couldnt think of anything worse than being a full time KJ dealing with drunks and lousy singers who think its their god given right to yell into your mics and swing them round by the cord or doing the butter fingers thing with your expensive cordless.
I am more protective of my equipment than I am with my husband

I know of at least one other form of entertainment that entertains all audiences of all ages and has been pretty timeless:

Elvis Impersonators!!

I actually used to perform with an Elvis Impersonator. Me an My buddy would dress up as the Blues Brothers and do 3-4 songs before THE KING would do his show. It was always a good time and the audience definately was across the board, from 0-100!!
