NICKEL MINES, Pennsylvania (AP) -- A gunman killed "a number" of people at a one-room Amish schoolhouse Monday in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County, state police said.

The shooter was among the dead, state police Cpl. Ralph Striebig said.

"There are a number of people dead," Striebig said. "The exact number I do not know yet."

Here's a update on that story:

The vast majority of the time, there are warnings of people like this, but with all the politcal correctiveness, people are afraid to speak up. If you kill someone in cold blood, why should you be back on the streets in 6 years? The death penalty does detour murder.....that sob doesn't ever kill again. How bout the guy, that got pulled over for his 15th DUI, in was it one or two years?. And as for people being insane, anyone that kills in cold blood would have to fall under that catagory. If I ever reach a mental state that could result in me killing innocent people.....please destroy me.. :( .......I will kill for a good reason though :)

What is scary, is (IMO) they over publicize these things. Then, some OTHER wacked out freak will cotton to the idea after seeing all the media hype, and you have more of the incidents happening. It just seems like you never heard of it...... now it happens much too often.

And WHY does it always have to involve children?

Unfortunately I think the problem is these nut cases want to be noticed
and on the news. They don't care if it is children if they get the attention they want.
Next it will be babies - sickos

Bring back the cane in schools, bring back the stocks, and if ya get life it MEANS life and it should be hard labour, no flat panel tvs no turkey dinners at xmas NO privileges. That way if they get out then they wont want to go back
Our justice system in NZ is a joke. They held a moratorium 8 years ago and asked the public to vote on whether sentencing needed to be harsher. It was an overwhelming yes vote and still nothing was implemented

It's called job security.   If we put everyone to death for very serious crimes, there will be no jails.   No jails, no guards, less lawyers, less judges.   Everyone needs a job.      Keep a lawyer working, kill someone.  LMAO

That story makes me sick.   To think about those innocent kids lined up and executed.  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(  :(

Yep, the corrections industry has grown more than any other industry in this country in the last 30 years....It is BIG BUSINESS.

It rivals the total national hotel/motel industry in number of beds and budget......Really, no joke, it does.

And an ever-increasing chunk of it is falling into investor hands where prisons are being ran by corporations that operate for profit.

Nope, no conspiracy there....They are simply vultures picking our social bones....We produce the garbage, they haul it for profit.

Hey, it's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
