I've been recording to a Boss BR532 digital 4 track for about 6 months now. I see alot of people going to computer based recording.  I would love to start recording this way, and I wanted to get some input on a few things.

Can anyone recommend a software program that is user friendy and not too complicated for a beginner? I have a custom built 2.8 ghz dual core pentium, 1 gig ram, but only a basic Soundblaster sound card.  Will this card be good enough to record with?

Any other helpful pointers would be greatly appreciated.
