Music Maestro and a few others companies have gone out of business apparently.   Do a seach for their left over discs, on any karaoke site.    All of the OLDIES discs are the first ones gone.   Everything else is still available.    This would indicate to me, they are the most popular music format.    So start making more oldies discs.     You only have 25 years worth of music to pick from.   Give the people what they want.

It doesn't surprise me that MUSIC MAESTRO went out of business, Most of their renditions in my opinion are subpar, But then again some of their renditions of songs (Mostly Oldies) Are the Only game in town.I see that SOUND CHOICE will still put out previously unreleased oldies occaisonally. They just came out with Wilson Picketts Song (Don't let the green grass fool you) on a disc with a few other unreleased songs. I ordered as soon as i saw it . Now if they would come out with Billy Stewarts Song-(Sitting in The Park) I,d Be in my Glory.

Yeah, that's why the oldies went first, because that was the only genre MM did well, not particularly because oldies is the most popular genre overall....

That's a fact, MM discs generally sucked.

Not just them.   Other companies too.   The oldies are gone first.    Country and everything else is still there.    Singers want more oldies.   Not the same old ones, do some new ones, that nobody else has released.

The world doesn't need one more version of ELVIS, "I Can't Help Falling In Love."   If I see another one by a new company, I'll barf.

I Agree With You BIGDOG. It never seemed to make good Business Sense to me Either. Case in Point, CHARTBUSTER Just Came out with a Disc by THE SPINNERS That has every song that has been done already many times (and probably better) by other Companies, Most of their Pop and Rock Stuff and R&B SUCKS TOO!. The only Thing They Seem to do Well is Country, Maybe They will be the next to Bite The Dust.

Tommie, there is nothing wrong with companies specializing in a certain genre.    If they are good at it, then they should concentrate on that.    WE all know that not every company has a good version of a particular song.    So we have to select the one we feel, is most like the original and list that in the song books.   To say that every company sucks is not totally true.    I have been surprised by some versions of songs, done by companies that were not very big or popular.   Even a blind squirrel can find an acorn, once in a while.

Too many companies keep on putting out songs that have been way over done.   How many different versions of the same song, do they think we need or want?    They have to be more open minded in their selection of songs they are putting out.    Start doing the songs that haven't been over done yet.   There are many that were/are still very popular.   No wonder they go out of business.    Poor marketing.   Lack of original song selection.   Give us new songs to pick from.    Not the same old million version songs.     They need to listen to FM radio once in a while. LMAO
