Last night I was singing during the big football game.   Just finished the song when someone with the ball made a touchdown    The bar went crazy.     All of the players and coaches were jumping up and down.   50,000 screaming fans.    Oh yeah...

I announced that I have never had that reaction before and I knew I did a really good job of it if, I do say so.

Yes for one brief moment....  I was the king.    I got so excited, I wet my panties. LMAO

Eat your heart out John.

Man, you must be lucky.  My gigs here, if there is a Nascar race on, or a football/basketball game, I have to wait till it is over to start karaoke.

This is how the bar owners are screwing up.   Every week the regularly scheduled karaoke night crowd comes in faithfully.   They are his bread annd butter crowd.    They provide him with a steady income.

When a stupid bar owner decides to cater to a once in a while crowd, over the regulars, he is saying to them, "Your money is only good to me whenever there is nothing else on TV."     He advertised a regular karaoke night.   That doesn't mean it's a once in a while football, baseball, hockey, poker, boxing, wet t-shirt night.    That crowd is not faithful, week after week.    They normally will not take in as much money on that night.    As soon as the big event is over, they will leave.   Unless it's a blowout, then they will leave early.    The karaoke crowd is more consistane and will stay untill they get kicked out.

LMAO what a great attitude Bigdog - It is always tough to have karaoke
going on when you are competing for the attention of the bar because there
is a game on.  :hi5:

It is funny you said Bon Jovi - I had a guy come in the bar with his wife Saturday
night that was a Bon Jovi clone. They came in for their 6 yr. anniversary. The only
problem was it looked like a costume. He had on boots, jeans with a black leather studded belt, and a 80s looking shirt. He had the Bon Jovi hairdo from the eighties too. They were a very attractive couple and were so nice. He sang Bon Jovi songs
to a tee, but was very modest about it. The problem began when the guys started giving him crap about looking like Bon Jovi. I mean he really looked like him. He was
a small guy with great looks. They would yell Bon Jovi sucks when he sang. I had to put a stop to that right away. I guess when you look like that you should expect a little teasing, but it almost started a fight.

I have had that happen before... usually the TV there is quiet, but one night a bunch of businessmen were at a table very intent on the game. Naturally, the team they were rooting for had to make a touchdown (or a rim shot, or what the heck ever kind of sport was on at the time) while I was singing. I almost... not quite.... but almost.... got a sh1t eating grin on my face, until I saw them looking at the TV. Then, I wanted to walk over there, grab the tie of the nearest guy, twist it around his lil' neck, and scream.... shut up and LISTEN to me sing my dang song!  LOL

But.... of course, I didn't do that.  :D
