I guess I must have messed up my first post so here goes. Is the MTU Video Hoster Lite 3.310 Software worth the investment of $99.00? Anyone have experience with this program? |

Tiger, I have Hoster. Have no idea about the "lite." You probably need to ask yourself what you want out of a program then ask the questions in the forums of the particular software. As in this case MTU.com. I like Hoster, some don't. Again decide what you want out of a program and then go to their forums. Don't recall anyone in this forum using "Lite." Kelly |

MTU might still allow you to download and test their software...They used to. |

We have Hoster and it was worth it for us very easy to use , does what its suppose to do and saves time cueing up songs have only done one party with it but it did great.I dont know about the lite version but Hoster is worth every penny we paid for it if it was only to save my cdgs from any more scratches & wear. I know there are a few members out there that think different programs are better cheaper, but bought this with the ruggedized laptop from MTU and so far Im happy with it . The only thing is I need to get a better sound card than what is in it. ( But thats on hold till we actually get a new gig, business is sloooow for us these days ) I still enjoy using Hoster at home tho. Hope this helps. ~ Kelley ~ |

It's the same as Hoster except it doesn't have book making ability & it's not able to import customer discs & it's only installable on 1 computer as Hoster you can put it on 2. Other than that they are the same. |

Again decide what you want out of a program and then go to their forums. Don't recall anyone in this forum using "Lite." Kelly It is a slimmed down version of hoster that lacks the outside disc playing and the songbook maker. Other than that it is the same as video hoster. Iown a copy of lite that came out before the name change and no longer use it due to how the search engine worked which is fixed now. It is a good program for karaoke. you still need a separate dj program as it is primarily a karaoke player. You might get away dropping a regular dj song into hoster itself but it doesn't mix the way a dj program does. Where I am you need that or you're not considered professional. |

Hey Kelly, I'm finishing putting together a system, and I've decided to go to a laptop (somehow I've collected around 450 discs, before I've even done a show ) I'm looking at the Ruggedized Laptop. I was wondering, did you import your cdg's with the internal drive that came with the unit, or did you use an external drive? Also, what brands did you import? I'm using mostly Sound Choice and Pop Hits Monthly. Any issues so far with your laptop (besides the sound card)? Thanks, Jim |

Thanks, Jim First Read this post about laptops..... http://www.karaoke-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=8120 2nd, Sound choice and PHM, are good choices. I have a majority of SC, CB, and PHM. And I do have some "off" brands for certain versions of songs. For example I have the Dangerous version of Pink Floyd's "wish you were here" casue I have found it to be the closest to the original. |
