Heya Access or database gurus...

I've been playing around with my database, and I THINK I know what I want to do to remove duplicates.

I have ONLY a few fields:

Disc (key id) (this is disc and track number)
Artist
Title
Date
and now ... DUPE (with a y/n)

I'm trying to generate a report where the NON checked entries will not appear...

How would I go about doing this? I've looked in the properties... haven't seen the one that really jumps out at me.

On my Master book, I want all listings, but I make the duplicate entries invisible...

Any idears??

Well, Access is a good data base, but the dups issue in one problem all users eventually scream about...Try the shareware solution I linked you to, but try it first on a copy of your data base.

I'm typing this on a machine I just built a friend...he's headed over to pick it up, so yeah for me!....He's got a fresh machine with a clean drive and Avast anti-virus installed, with winduhs fully updated.....Let's see how long it takes him to get it loaded with virus anyway

I also upgraded him to IE7 RC-1, so many that will help keep him clean.

The answer is very simple, Matt. You set up a QUERY from your songbook TABLE with all the fields you need for your report plus the DUPE field (which I assume is a yes/no type field).  You then set the criteria as: Like "0" for the DUPE field, as this will give you all the versions in your songbook.  You then open up DESIGN VIEW for your REPORT, go to the report properties and set the record source to the QUERY you just created.  This will "hide" the dupes in your singer's songbook.
