No it doesn't need double D batteries. By now you all know me well enough to know it
isn't that kind of toy - shame on you
Anyway-
I like to lay out my slips in a row, so I can see the order of my
rotation. When a window opens, a fan blows or I'm outside and it is windy,
the slips and lists fly all over the place.
I found the coolest invention at Staples today. They are metal strips with magnets.
The perfect size for what I need them for. Now all I have to do is lay down these
flat metal strips and put a little magnet on each slip - so cool. I'm guessing they are about a foot and a half long and 4 or 5 inches wide.
Yeah no more running to catch my slips from flying around when someone
opens a door. I just had to share my good fortune.

We have little springy clips drilled on to a board....the board lays across the table in front of my husband...he just clips the slips underneath. Keeps slips safe...and rotation right in front of you. We've been doing that for about 6 years.

Hi Melly!
I looked for something like that forever. I even considered getting
a cork board. Where did you find your gizmo board or did you make it?

Did you know you can get your slips printed on post-it style pads really cheap?
Yep, just ask the counter help next time you are in the big box.

Why is it I see Babs little magnets looking like fancy refrigerator magnets?
I bet she has lots of cute little refrigerator magnets on her new songslip metal strips....and I also bet most of them are cats.

Yeah, I used to get a kick out've going into a girls home and the whole theme is "cat". Cat Wallpaper, cat tiles, cat carpeting, cat upholstery on chairs and couches, cat lights. Why would a girl want to turn her home into a cathouse ?

No cat house here.
Nope you're wrong about the magnets too. They are special little ones that are strong enough to hold down index cards, but not abstruct the the writing on them.
Sticky notes are way cool, but would not with stand the wind I'm talking about.
2 things - I make my own request slips at no cost and Iuse index cards to list all
the regulars songs. sorry keith, but the magnetic board rocks!

What's wrong with fridg magnets ? First it's my stuffed animal collection, next what will it be ? My Suzie Homemaker kitchen and Nancy Drew books ? I sent you 40 Sea-Monkeys not to make fun of my hobbies Keith. Can't you at least acknowledge that ? I need to order more light refracting prisms. The Swarovski site is too dang costly.. Anyone like those window prisms ?
btw, nice new avatar Kappy !

Got the board at True Value...had them cut it to size...then the hubby drilled the little clippy things on there...it holds 24 for us. We work in the same bar we started at eight years ago....so works for us. make it to fit your specs sweets.

Being in a windy location such as Chicago, the magnets might be the only thing that would work in your case.
It made me think of the apparatus we used to use in a restaurant that held food tickets in place. That would work really well for me as long as I'm not outside. We get gusts above 20mph on some days that are considered nice. I don't know what these are called but they can hold several tickets at once and I can slide the tickets up or down the line as needed.
