What is best CDG's other than Sound Choice especially for start up sets? How about DK Millinium or Chartbuster?

I ask the same question when I first came here and all three that you mentioned were recommended with Soundchoice and DK being the best endorsed. If you are starting out, I can also recommend the Dangerous Series as well as the Supercore set.
You will see other starter sets out like All Hits Maxx, Sweet Georgia Brown, etc. Opinions will vary from each user on their merit, and the fact that a lot of the tunes are duplicated within both series. I am currently using Chartbuster, Soundchoice, Supercore, and Dangerous and have no major complaints about any of them. Versions will vary and some vendors will offer better genre choices. Exp: Chartbuster seems to do very well with Country, while Soundchoice will offer better rock tracks. Dangerous and Supercore both have a good variation of genres to choose from, including Country, Rock, Alternative, Modern Pop and of course Classic Rock and Karaoke standards.
This is just my opinion though, as I'm sure there will be others who will also have their own recommendations. Good luck and happy hunting. :D

Being a newbie posted it, she didn't know any better!

Best Sound Choice for most music in general, cost more - but you get what you pay for!
Pop Hits / Top Hits monthly for most newer music
Chartbuster for country, their pop/rock lines are not great.
DK ok set - some songs recorded in lower keys & has pan flute melogy vocal guide lines in background - not a big deal if you are singing correctly.

I wasn't ripping on the newbie.  LMAO

I just don't get how you can have a post in 3 forums and when
you reply it shows up in all of them. Kind of cool. I don't know how to do that.

thanks for detailed reply. CB essentials has 2700 songs and SC bricks & foundations have 1800 songs. Still tough decision b/c i know SC is good quality. Get almost 1000 more songs with CB essentials.

I'd pick quality over quantity anyday.

My problem with CB is they do just OKAY when it comes to the pop stuff... and just okay when it comes to the rock stuff. I like their country a lot, and like the "rat pack" songs I've heard.

Just click on the song samples at Karaoke.com for the Essentials or any CB products... you'll hear a distinct difference!

2 years and $2500 dollars later here's what I learned:

There is no one brand that shines on all genres.. Sound Choice, one of the highest ranked & priced, has some plain bad versions of 50's rock and roll and some of their sets are recorded at very low volume backing.  They have alot of songs that aren't avail on other labels

Zoom, manufactured in Great Britain, I believe have just as high quality versions have Sound Choice. I don't know if they have sets available but I recommend them

DK's are fine as sets, as long you don't mind the flute melody or whatever it is..

Chartbuster has a wide selection and their country genre is of high quality.

Music Maestro also has a good selection, especially of oldies and pricewise pretty good but quality is fare

Sunfly is fair in quality  and they win the award as having the most misspelled & inaccurate graphics...

This much is true, however Sound Choice does usually get more hits than misses like some of the other brands.

True and their selection of songs is tops.. I just think they are over-hyped.. I started out with a disc set of Supercore which is no longer in business but you can still get their set.  Supercore is a combination of Ameri-Hits and some others and the quality was excellent.

I am a singer, but I'm just getting into karaoke for the fun of it.  I have heard that
Sound Choice brand is about the best.  Is that true?
